We popped in for lunch here, wanting a traditional plateful of fish & chips. You order at the counter, and your food is brought to the table when it's freshly cooked. Sadly, when it arrived it turned out to be in a cardboard box, which is of course recyclable, but we would have preferred proper plates. We were also given rather small wooden implements to eat it with.
The fish tasted fresh and was cooked well, with crispy batter - chips given a score of 8/10. Mushy peas were OK.
Would eat here again but would not recommend it to friends, as it's rather basic.
(We used to come here some years ago, when it was run by previous owners - we had recommended it to others, then)
There are other things on the menu, such as pies, vegetarian options and children's portions.
