Basic facilities but great little site. Paid £6 per night to camp. Kept tidy and under good control, any threats owners are out investigating which with bikes was a comforting thought. Great people we met and had a laugh talkingbto everyone until the early hours. 15 min walk into town. Great views of valley around Llangollen

Good site great location within walking distance of town along the tow path, my three and five year old boyd managed it easily.
Ok so the shower block needs a lick of paint but there was always hot water and loo roll! The toilets were clean as was the rest of the site.
My only complaint was no recycling points, only a bin for glass and another for general waste.
A very enjoyable stay.

Tower Farm has great potential but needs investment. The camping area is great, a large circle with decent pitches and a large grass area for games or tents. The location is also good, close to the town and good walks & the owners were friendly but I'm afraid that's all the plus points. The camping area is behind the farm house which consists of various run down outbuildings which are an eyesore and the 'reception' is the owners back door/entrance to their house (complete with dogs & lots of junk hanging about). The Elsan point is a drain in the ground with no barriers around it. The shower block is just dreadful, not everything needs to be new but it should be clean. They are in dire need of an upgrade, even the owner said they hadn't had the chance paint them for this season. It's a real shame as the campsite has massive potential, a good clean up/coat of paint and it could be great.

How I wish I could write a glowing review of this stunning site. Small, uncrowded, perfect location, superb views, great walks. It's got all that. But it's also got that terrible toilet block. Yes, there is good hot water. After that, someone is simply not doing his or her job. Old and tired I could take. It's not essential to be all chrome and top of the range. However, there is no excuse for such a high degree of dirt and no attempt whatsoever to rectify this. The showers were unusable. The floor corners were ingrained with dirt and grit and the plastic mat was black with mould and filth. As were the walls, everywhere. The two wash basins were not clean either and only just usable, both being equipped with ancient, slimy cakes of soap, complete with someone else's hairs! And the reason the ventilation was so poor was that the extractors were caked up with filthy cobwebs. Yes, we do have a shower in our motorhome but on metered electricity and a fee of £19 a night, I think we should be able to use the on-site facilities. We paid 2 visits on our holiday, with 4 days between them. NO cleaning had been done in the interim. How much would it cost to apply a lick of paint, supply a few bottles of pump action hand wash, and maintain at least a minimal standard of hygeine? It's a crying shame.

We were in the area for a big geocaching event & didn't want to stay on a big site so decided to book Tower Farm campsite as it was within a short walking distance of the pavilion where the event was taking place.
We had read very mixed reviews but decided that we would probably be ok staying for only 2 nights.
On arrival, there were only a few tents on the field so we chose a spot near to the hedge & tried to pitched up. The field was quite stony underneath so we moved to slightly softer ground.
The toilet block was a few minutes walk away & indeed does need upgrading. On closer inspection there was a lot of dust on top of the door frames, the showers had grit in them & very old manky mats which looked disgusting. The whole place smelt damp & was not sufficiently ventilated. After 6pm on the 1st night until we left the shower block had no loo rolls & were not cleaned.
Despite this, we stayed & had a very good nights sleep the 1st night.
The 2nd night was a different matter however. We arrived back around 8pm only to find that 2 small tents & a transit van had squeezed inbetween ourselves & another family party.
Despite what the rules of the campsite had stated (only couples & families allowed), the owners in their wisdom had allowed a party of 3 young single men on the site who then proceeded to annoy everybody by drinking & being very loud. They went off to the pub only to return in the early hours waking everybody up.
A fellow camper had gone to inform the owners of what was happening but they had not come to the door.
I was not very happy at having my 14 year old son subjected to foul language & bad behaviour by these people & was glad that the men fell asleep because they were so drunk.
I would hazard a guess that the cctv cameras around the site do not work or else the owners simply do not care.
So, over all, you get what you pay for & after what we put up with the 2nd night £6pppn seemed too much!
