The Royal Victoria Hotel Snowdonia
Ranked #2 of 7 Hotels in Llanberis
Reviewed 18 April 2012

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel and found the hotel very good for the price we paid. The staff were very attentive and friendly and very helpful.Although in need of a make over I found the hotel to be very clean and tidy. The food was very nice and the room I stayed in -117 was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was also up to standard and the shower was great too! With a Happy Hour 3till7 and Meal Deal offers available, there is a package to suit everyone. We chose the Wine and Dine offer, the evening meal was O.K. on the first night, and really good on the second night.Breakfast was also good and plentiful, perfect to set you up for a long trek up Snowdon (well to the Station about 500 metres down the hill,!) All in all a very pleasant stay

Room Tip: we stayed in rooms 117 and 119 which do not have a view but were fine

I have just returned from a fabulous 2 night stay at this hotel.
After reading a few negative reviews i did wonder what to expect but couldnt have been more impressed! Our room was clean, modern and more than adequate, we were on the 3rd floor with wonderful views of the mountains.
The continental breakfast was excellent with more than enough to choose from and the £2.50 upgrade for a cooked breakfast is well worth it.
The staff were all brilliant especially Amy on reception who couldnt have been more helpful.
The bar menu is good value too offering 2 meals for £12.
Its annoying to read negative reviews that are unjustified and could put off potential guests, i say book a stay and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view if possible.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel and found the hotel very impressive for a 3 star accommodation. The staff were very lovely (especially Amy) and very helpful. I found the hotel to be very clean and tidy, there was no "shabby" décor. The food was very nice and the room I stayed in (312) had a great view of the mountain, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. My stay made me feel quite annoyed about some of the negative reviews this hotel has had and I do actually wonder if they even stayed at this hotel or just want to ruin it's reputation.

This hotel will be my first choice when I return to the wonderful Llanberis and I would like to thank the staff at the Royal Victoria for a lovely stay.

The hotel is ideally located in Llanberis and a stones throw away from the Llanberis Path up to the summit of Snowdon and opposite the mountain railway. There is a bus stop opposite the Mountain Railway which is £1 to go up to the start of the Pyg Track route. The busses seem to leave every ½ or so, but ask reception for times.

The hotel itself was clean and tidy, slightly tired and dated, but certainly not that it would put you off stating here. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

Breakfast: Continental was ample for me and a large selection of food. (Juices, Cereals, Fruit, Muffins, Croissants, yoghurt, toast, rolls, cheese etc.) There was an option to have additional fried breakfast which looked good for £2.50, but didn’t really need it.

Room: Ample size, clean and ideal for what we needed.

Bar: Happy hour 3-7pm at £2 a pint is great value.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd level (top floor) and noticed the floor boards were quite creaky, so a top floor...

Positives include location, location, location, clean/ refurbished bedrooms, value for money. Breakfast served in room with great views down the valley.

This is a great value for money three star proposition, ideally located for Snowdonia's lakes and mountains... it is not five star luxury.

Excellent service
Excellent location
Excellent Food
Excellent Value

Simply Excellent!

I bet the negative comments are from stuffy and over-fussy people.

We stayed at the Legacy Royal for 2 nights in April 2012. The hotel is as I would have expected for 3* and the age of the hotel. Room was comfortable and more updated than the other parts of the hotel. I would say some areas are in need of a lick of paint but in general it is a clean and comfortable hotel.

Only ate bar food one evening which was not the best but ok to fill a gap. Breakfast was little sparse on the continental items but still ok. Cooked breakfast looked good and you could swap your items around if you wanted to.

If your walking Snowdon or want to go on the train to the top (which i personally think is a rip off at £25 per person) you are in the right place.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor (321) and on the front which had good views. 1 window which openend as the...
