This hotel is located in an odd location, a residential area that is neither Cardiff bay nor the city centre. It's a bit of a walk to both, although it is a nice area and feels very safe.
There are some works going on which may have reduced the size of the car park. It is certainly inadequate for the demand and it feels a little cheeky to demand £10/night to use it, Sadly like most HIEx in the UK they use the dreadful company Parking Eye to manage their car parks.
The interior design is very typical HIEx in the UK: regular customers will not be surprised. There is a bar that seemed well used. The rooms are also familiar to any HIEx customer, although the door on mine was slightly loose and banged on the lock every few minutes.
Breakfast service was revised with Covid-19, but they have kept the hot sausage or bacon baps (again common to HIEx in the UK). They now make the baps rather than providing the constituent parts, which I count as an improvement. I am not convinced of the value of cling film wrapped bananas, or why disposable cutlery/crockery is any safer, but they have adopted both.More
