Spotless, comfortable, friendly staff. Perfect for access to the city. Great that you park a short walk away. Love that they have their own bees and products from the honey produced. More hotels should do that!

Overall the hotel was nice, nothing special, its not a hotel worthy of £120 a night.

I went to the the restaurant did not serve food ...they offered me popcorn!

Please trust me when I say there are better hotels in Cardiff to stay at,

This hotel was chosen for us by our daughter to stay two nights to see a concert. On arrival the Reception Staff were extremely kind and helpful. Our room was delightful, very modern and so clean with very comfortable beds.Couldn't fault it in anyway. It is in an ideal location for shops restaurants bars and the concert venues. It us also only a 10 minute walk from the station. We didn't just like one thing about this hotel we liked everything and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay

The good:
The location is great, right on the high street and with double layered windows there was no noise.
The room was very pretty and modern but still cosy and the facilities were great - nice shower, robes, decent tea tray, safe in the room etc.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The not so good:
Cleanliness was overall good but there was dust on the door closer and on the top shelf in the wardrobe and the breakfast in bed cards were stained and crumpled.
We ordered breakfast in bed and the coffee was served in a teapot rather than a cafetiere.
Also we requested a twin room (the room type booked offered the choice) however we were allocated a double which I thought was surprising given we had booked directly through the hotel website.
The Wi-Fi didn't work in the room and the receptionist on duty found that the booster was missing from the room. She recommended we connected to the lobby Wi-Fi which did hold out when we got back to the room but it was quite weak and dropped out frequently.

Overall, this hotel could be amazing, but the attention to detail needs to improve.

Charging over £220 a night for a room that overlooked a building site and was in dire need of basic maintenance - clearly this hotel enjoys cashing in on u suspecting visitors to Cardiff.

The only dubious benefits about staying in this glorified hostel: it’s a stones throw to the stadium and it is within earshot of the loudest and busiest pubs and clubs in the city centre.

The negatives extinguish any location benefits very quickly though. Finding the hotel entrance through a small door on the side street is the first challenge. There is no parking space or the luxury of luggage asssitance by the hotel, whose reception in located on a warren 2 floors above the side street entrance. Pleasant receptionist who was auick to take your money at reception as you arrive, just as well because when you see the state of the room and it’s location relative to the local back streets and building sites - you would probably decide you made an error booking it in the first place.

The room was very basic, the positives included a good sized TV, a ver6 cheap bottle of Pinot noir, a small fridge located inside the clothes cupboard and free Wi-fi which I think ran at 56kps.

The negatives were too many to mention but the ones that were obvious included very hard pillows, awful views and noise levels, cracks in the bathroom walls and a bath plug with a broken chain etc, 1970’s run down decor, a breakfast that really isn’t worth paying for (paid for two but decided to miss the second one and go elsewhere for something less greasier). The breakfast is served in a function room of sorts, not particularly pleasant staff and in all - it completed the hostel feel to the weekend.

So, you pay your money and you take your chances here. You are better off airb nbeeing it and using the money saved to enjoy a decent meal out. Cardiff is a really good city to visit! Don’t be caught by offers on the internet showing this hotel up as some grand place - it doesn’t own the ground floor entrance as some photos seem to imply in luring you there - and it is not value for £220 a night by any stretch of the imagination.

My daughter and I stayed for a couple of nights, 27th and 28th November and were impressed with the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, being able to leave our luggage for the morning before we checked in and for the afternoon when we checked out meant that we could stretch our visit to Cardiff and do much more sight-seeing and shopping.

Our room was on the small side but plenty big enough for the two of us. It was very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. There was an excellent internet connection. The tea, coffee and chocolate provided were very welcome as were the excellent toiletries in the bathroom. We did have a problem with the shower on the first morning. This was reported and fixed before we returned to our room from visiting the interesting craft market.

We too were disturbed by the police in the middle of the night but they were very apologetic and explained that they were investigating a reported incident. We were only to pleased to know that our security was paramount to the hotel and that such incidences were dealt with in such a professional way. We also received a letter from the management explaining what had happened and apologising for the disturbance. I really don't know what else they could have done.

We loved the location of the hotel. Everything was within easy walking distance, very convenient for the railway station, shops, the castle and the Waterside shopping and eating places. We look forward very much to visiting again.

Stayed at this hotel on the 28th November, great check in. Had a room on the 3rd floor and could here the music from the venue downstairs, woken up by the next door neighbors having a a very loud conversation in the corridor. Worst part was being woken by loud banging at 3 am by the police!!! Not what you expect when staying away on business midweek. Had a note through the door apologizing for any inconvenience, however on check-out nothing was mentioned. Would have a thought an apology in person would have been offered. Would not stay here again.
