Wish we could have stayed more than one night here, as the staff was fabulous and the breakfast really good. Hostel is in a great neighbourhood and within easy walking distance to many of Belfast's most notable attractions; convenient to get to from the Motorway. Very quiet and clean, staff were super friendly and very helpful. We definitely recommend it for a stay in Belfast.

You can keep posting these. You guys kicked out is my only bad reviews. Everyone else raves about the place. Its just the kicked out group!
You were removed from the hostel by the police. You can keep posting on here weekly. A real backpackers would read my reviews on verified sites
Eventually you need to take responsibility for your intoxicated action.
If your group cant behave i have no option but to call the police and have you removed

Brillant stay here! Such incredible hospitality, really felt at home here. Got a free room upgrade and had a few whiskeys with the owner! Absolutly reccommend staying here!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hostel over Christmas and we thought it was one of the best hostels we have ever stayed at. The reception staff was really nice and gave us a lot of info about things to see in Belfast and they organized a black taxi tour for us. We had been trying to find a place to eat on Christmas day but all the places we found cost over 50 pounds per person. We were so happy when the owner cooked an amazing Christmas dinner for everyone in the hostel for only 5 pounds per person. The room was really comfortable, the was a big kitchen, movie room and it was free to use the computer and internet.

I have stayed at Lagan Backpackers twice. The staff go above and beyond any other crew to make your stay enjoyable, you are given a map upon your arrival with recommendations of where to go and where to avoid. There is a community room with a projector and hundreds of dvds to choose from. Also, a COOKED breakfast is included. The hostel is central to public transport and the city centre. Clean rooms, two kitchens and a good shower. William the owner is extremely friendly. You couldn't ask for more. I am surprised to see that there a negative reviews, I had a positive experience with out issues.

I stayed here for 5 nights with my friend and we had a great time here! The atmosphere is a bit like in a student dorm/house, which may not be for everyone but we really liked it. It made it very easy to get into contact with other guests at the hostel and share a drink with them, watch a movie, or all go to the Irish pub together.

You conveniently get a code for the front door so you can get in 24/7, and just about everything you need is at your direct exposal, such as free WiFi, a computer in case you want to look something up, plenty of bathrooms, two kitchens, a guitar and even a media room. There's a supermarket around the corner and the nice owner/staff will tell you all you need to know about Belfast and what it has to offer. You can also book two very amazing tours at the reception, one taking you to see some mindblowingly beautiful landmarks of the Northern Ireland landscape, the other teaching you more about the recent history of Belfast (I'd really recommend both).

The beds admittedly are not entirely perfect, I slept like a log myself but my friend told me she had a slightly less comfy mattress. However, considering the price, location (and the atmosphere above all) it is really one of the best hostels we have stayed in. If we ever come back to Belfast we will definitely be staying at this hostel again! We thank Willem for the "gezelligheid" as we Dutchies call it ;)

Room Tip: For females traveling alone: there is a room available for girls only.

i stayed in a private double bed in mid november. its a nice place and staff friendly. the map and explanation of sights around Belfast was really good. no need to plan too much before you arrive. price was good. bathrooms good. i think there was about 5 or so options for cooked breakfast (the staff member in the morning just takes your order and cooks it up for you). the comunal computer is quite noisy, i think it needs to be wiped (you cant hear it from bedroom of course). they offer to keep you bag until you are ready to leave but its not the most secure system. i think they should have a seperate locked room with entry only with a staff member. but a good place to stay.

Included is a FREE English Breakfast that includes Bacon, Sausage, egg, beans and toast. Or Porridge or scrambled eggs and bacon. Please note breakfast is strictly between 8 and 10 with no exceptions. All breakfast served only with coffee or tea. Lagan Backpackers is simply a large Belfast house that has been converted into a Backpackers Hostel; and it is owned and run by a South African guy who knows what backpackers want. Our high ratings are mostly due to the great attention and recommendations that you can expect from both myself and my staff. My idea for a great hostel is very simple: to make you feel at home. To give you a comfortable bed to sleep in, to keep the noise down after eleven to ensure a peaceful sleep and to make you feel so at home that you make new friends and enjoy Belfast as much as possible. We provide advice on all tours of Northern Ireland, and will only recommend tours that we have personally experienced. We advise that our customers do not pre-book tours before visiting as we find that some tour operators overcharge and do not provide the level of customer satisfaction that we expect for our guests. In addition to this, Lagan Backpackers hostel is very friendly to single travellers, as we go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. We are located minutes from the City Centre, the Lagan River and the picturesque Queens University campus; and mere moments away from the lively Botanic Avenue where there are many restaurants, shops, pubs and clubs for our customers to enjoy. Additionally, the Botanical Gardens that boast beautiful greenhouses and the famed Tropical Ravine is a short walk away, adjacent to the Ulster Museum. ** No groups, stag parties, hen parties or drunken weekends like Paddys day!! Please remember only for the 11,12,13,14 July I do not accept booking from people from the UK (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales..Also no American or Canadian band members). This is only for the marching season. No refunds on deposits will be given and you will be turned away on arrival. No stag or hen parties or groups without prior permission. ... more   less
