The Troubles exhibition brought me back; sad reminder of my past, but cathartic and timely reminder of the loss and suffering, and how important GFA is.
Lots to see on every level, culminating in a nice space on top floor for kids to flex their creative muscles. Cafe experience dreadful. Dodge if you can. Wee visitors’ shop is a gem. Nice bookshops and much better coffee shops across road too.

We decided to visit here for the dinosaur exhibits, but ended up walking around the whole museum because it was so interesting. Someone has previously mentioned that you need a day to visit here, and I would agree with this. There's so much to see and take in, and something even more interesting than the last when you travel through each area. What made this visit even better was the Game of Thrones tapestry - we didn't realise it was there until we visited, but it's a must see and a fantastic piece of work!

I've visited the Ulster Museum dozens of times and never tire of it. In recent years it has undergone an extensive facelift so that theres a fresh contemporary feel to the whole experience.
Its a great introduction to life in N Ireland from earliest times to the present day.
There's an egyptian section.... art gallery....natural history..... dinosaurs.... irish history ..... the troubles .....stone age .... slanush treasure.... underseas world etc etc.....
Its a great day out for the whole family and theres lots for children to see and do and touch.
There's a nice cafe and book shop.
Its also free!

Me and my fiancé went here on easter Monday for a walk about! The big down side was that it was very very busy which was to be expected. We only went here to see the dinosaurs, everything else was a bit dull.

This is a great museum spread over 5 floors and has a really varied selection of exhibits to see. It has travelling exhibits and for all you Game of Thrones fans there is an amazing tapestry on show telling the story. Interesting facts and great activities for Children.
