“Great location for a perfect relaxing get away”
Reviewed August 13, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed for a week in Tollymore gate lodge in August 2015. It was a great location, especially due to our fondness for Tollymore Forest. Great relaxing break from the hustle bustle. Would highly recommend.

another great holiday at the gate lodge. noticed a few improvements since last time which just add to the experience and the TV now works all the time. Couldn't ask for a better location and the wee park in the forest park is great. Tollymore is awesome and Castlewellan rocks too. Going for a run or cycle in the evening I saw a dozen deer in the week and a couple of red squirrels too. The little ones had a ball too and we didn't notice the weather too much in the forests. There are loads of little parks within a few miles of the house. There is everything you need in the house for your stay and the beds are very comfy. Looking forward to going back soon.

“Gate Lodge with a great view”
Reviewed August 2, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This is a great Gate Lodge to stay in. With plenty of history. It is on the level, which suited me being partially disabled. The two bedrooms are large doubles, with comfortable beds. The sitting room was cosy, with settee and two recliners.

Outside there is a small garden. With picnic table abd chairs. A couple of sunchairs in the shed. A lovely place to sit, relax and read a book.

Staying here means you are only a couple minutes walk down into the forest. Also it is very close to places to start your walks up the mountains.

One thing is the turn into the drivewayis narrow. Just be careful.

Thanks for your lovely review. Yes, the entry is indeed a bit narrower than we would like - it's a test of the old driving skills. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

“Lovely cottage”
Reviewed July 31, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This is a perfect cottage to stay in. The people who run it are great to deal with. We stayed for 5 nights 2 adults, 2 kids under 4 and a dog and had 2/3 days for bad weather but it didn't stop us getting out and about.

I'm glad we were good to deal with :) All joking aside, having a holiday should be enjoyable and not stressful and I'm glad we were able to meet those expectations. Thanks for staying.

This was our second time staying in the cottage and it was every bit as good this time as the last! It is clean as a whistle, extremely homely and the views are as good as it gets! I would strongly recommend this cottage to anyone.
