The Rose Park House is a very pleasant B&B. Our room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was hearty and well-prepared. The family that runs the house is very friendly and engaging; helpful and considerate. They are solicitous of your comfort. I note that there is a gentle dog on property that has the run of the main floor, if that is of concern to any prospective guests. Derry is a hilly city and the walk from the old city to the B&B makes that quite clear; the B&B is located on a high point across the Bogside from the walled city, which is on a height of its own. The 15-minute walk from the B&B to the center of town is through a large, pleasant park and past an impressive cathedral -- all downhill until you reach the walls (then uphill to the Diamond). Of course, that means that the return walk is all uphill. (There may be few places to stay in Derry which do not require one to deal with the hills.) We did not find many restaurants near the B&B; we dined in town before returning for the night.

I spend one night a week at this B+B and enjoy every night more than the last. The rooms are beautiful, always clean, and so comfortable. The family running the house are so welcoming and friendly, they make me feel at home every time I arrive, Rose Park House has become a home from home for me. The breakfast is always delicious and nothing is too much for them. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast as it really is the only place to stay when spending the night in this city.

We stayed here in Jan 2012 with my 5 year old son. First impressions said it all. The house is very well decorated and is very clean. The family who run the guest house are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They really go that extra mile to meet guests needs and to give all tourist information required. Many thanks to Thomas and his team, we will stay with you again and would recommend you to anyone looking for quality hospitable accomodation. BOOK DIRECT WITH THE HOTEL RATHER THAN ON LINE, IT'S EASIER TO SPEAK AND THEY WILL THEN ALLOCATE YOU A ROOM THAT SUITS YOUR NEEDS !!!!!!!
