Enjoying a delightful night here tonight. We arrived a little later in the day than we'd hoped, but the staff were friendly, and booked us in quickly enough to make the end of supper before service finished. One of the staff (Nikky) went above and beyond in giving us a short tour and explanation of some of the history of the property. The room we're in has a King Sized Bed, which is rather comfy, and the bathroom is very spacious with a separate tub and walk in shower. Should I be traveling here again, I will be back.

Room Tip: The King Rooms are excellent!

We stayed one night at the Norwood Hall during our driving tour of Scotland. The hotel was very nice. We had dinner in the bar and it was good and the service in the bar was efficient and friendly. The room was very nice and comfortable. The buildings interior is beautiful with a fabulous staircase. We stayed in an older room. A warning to folks with disabilities, make sure you request a room that is accessible. Our room was accessible only via stairways with carrying our luggage. This wasn't a problem for us but could be for some guests. An added point of conversation is that the hotel is alleged haunted by the ghost of the former owner's mistress for whom the house was built.

Lovely hotel, bit out of the way for visiting the city but handy bus outside to the centre. Staff were absolutely great. But the best thing was I accidentally left my headphones there and they were returned to me which I thought was very kind of them!

I love staying at this hotel. If you are lucky you get a room in the old Manor House part of the hotel. The food has got really much bette since the Hungarian Chef Roland has arrived. There is a big BUT: the virtually non-existent Wi-fi. If only Old Mr MacDonald, the owner of this hotel chain, would invest in super fast broadband to be installed in the hotel. After all Robert Gordon University (RGU) right next door has state of the art fibre optic broadband. Most of of the clientele staying at the Norwood Hall Hotel are RGU business travellers. Myself included. Three days at Norwood without Wi-fi ANYWHERE in the hotel plus limited phone network coverage is impossible. Reception staff who are always lovely and efficient often are at their wits end when their old PCs go down and they cannot print out your bill. Some staff try and fob you off by saying “it’s a rooter problem”. Even if you try and log on in the bar where you sit next to a rooter you still don’t get any connection. Or they tell you that too many conference people are currently on line. Complete tosh! This hotel hosts the annual oil magnate conference. How can they cope? If Mr MacDonald cares to read this email: please enter the 21st century and get super fast broadband laid into your Norwood flagship.

We stayed here for one night to celebrate a graduation from the art school nearby. Checkin was fast and easy and they asked if we would like an upgrade of our room which we did. We were glad because our room on the 3rd floor was roomy and very comfortable with a chair and sofa, large TV and big superkingsize bed. The bathroom had a big shower cubicle as well as a good sized bath and usual facilities. Our only minor gripe was that the automatic light for the bathroom went on full in the night when I got up. A gentler night light would have been preferable. Breakfast was a leisurely affair with endless coffee and toast and a good choice of cooked breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. We shall certainly come here again when we are up in Aberdeen. We have paid more for an indifferent B&B elsewhere in Scotland.

Room Tip: We paid an extra £10 for a big room overlooking the river. It was well spent.
