We stayed for one night as a joint birthday celebration. The food was amazing and the staff were excellent, so it is a shame that our lasting memory is being woken up at 7.45 a.m. by a petrol powered hedge trimmer just outside our window. Maybe I am being unrealistic, but for a hotel with such a reputation I would have expected everything to be perfect, not just 95%. We did receive a letter of apology from the owner who assured us that in future the gardeners would not be starting their work as early

Dear Notsteve

Again Myself and the Hotel would like to apologise for the rude awakening you received because of the gardeners, to which we have ensured that they do not start as early. We are severely disappointed that this event ruined your stay with us that had been going so well up to this point.

We do hope that you would give us another chance in the future should you choose to return.

Kind Regards

We are so impressed by our whole experience of staying at the Marcliffe Hotel.
We were married at the Marcliffe when located on Queen's Road 25 years ago and the service is still as good as ever.
We were sadly only staying one night, but were so impressed, we will definitely return soon.
The dinner was amazing, as was the breakfast. Every member of staff offered a first class service with a smile.
The pianist in the lounge/bar was fabulous.

It was our 25 wedding anniversary and that of our friends who were also staying. We arrived to our lovely rooms to a complimentary chilled bottle of champagne, glasses and chocolates.
After dinner we were presented with a lovely selection of chocolates and fudge together with an iced anniversary message. All this was arranged as I'd briefly mentioned it being our silver wedding anniversaries, they had no idea that we had actually got married at the Marcliffe 25 years ago.

Can't wait to go back again.

Thank you Marcliffe Hotel.

As a local I've been to the Marcliffe a number of times over the years and have never had anything but exceptional customer service.
This past trip was for a day at the spa. Unfortunately there was a mix up with my booking which meant I couldn't get the treatment I had originally booked for. However, the staff were so lovely and accommodating, they went as far as giving me a wee goody bag as an apology for the mix up. My facial and manicure were also very professional and wonderfully relaxing.
Thanks to all the spa staff for a great morning!

A nice location on the outskirts of Aberdeen, in quiet gardens. Our junior suite was very spacious with a lovely bathroom. Everything very clean. A nice touch is having many items in the minibar complimentary. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Dinner was very nice, and well priced. Excellent breakfast. The one negative was the noise from bins being emptied and deliveries coming in early in the morning (7am)

Room Tip: Ask for something away from the service area

Dear Momma61

Thank you for taking the time to write such a kind review.

I would like to apologise for the noise experienced, we were informed of it probably by yourselves on checkout and have taken steps to move the times deliveries are made to the Hotel to ensure our guests can have a great nights sleep. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and that we were able to look after you well.

I do hope that we have the opportunity to look after you again in the future.

Kind Regards

A group of 6 of us (and a 3 year old!) had lunch on Saturday in The Marcliffe and it was a lovely experience. We had hoped to eat in The Drawing Room but we booked last minute and it was fully booked but they offered us a table in the restaurant and confirmed that we could still choose from The Drawing Room menu which was perfect. The menu offers a good variety of light lunch options and we all chose something different. The children's menu went down well with our youngest guest! Everything was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The staff who served us were pleasant, polite and professional and the whole experience just felt special. I'm sure we'll be back! Highly recommend :-)
