We went here as part of our anniversary day out, what a mistake that was! From the outset it oozed cheapness. The waiter came with our drinks after 10 minutes of taking the order, given there was no one at the bar and only 6 others sitting, this was a bit of a joke. The cake stand arrived with a somewhat bleak selection, and none of it particularly enjoyable, I’ve had a better sausage roll from Greggs, some of the sandwiches were like Aladdin’s shoes (curled at the edges) the scones were dry and crumbly with no taste and served with whipped (not clotted) cream, and they cakes, these were like something from an Indian Buffett restaurant which had been sitting out for days. When I complained to the waiter and told him that the service and food were dismal and I won’t be back, his response was “that’s fine!’. Great business plan you have there!
Don’t waste your time and money here, overpriced, rude staff, poor service, and stale tasting food.

Had afternoon tea here with a group of friends. We started with a bottle of Prosecco and then opted for the cocktail afternoon tea. We had the usual selection of sandwiches but the demi tasse of tomato and corn soup and the sausage roll were a nice addition. After the savouries there was a clotted cream scone then some little cakes. We ordered a second cocktail to round off a pleasant afternoon.

We had a great time in the Rox with excellent service and a wide selection of savoury and sweet goodies. A nice touch was the tasty spicy tomato soup served with the warm sausage rolls. For vegetarians they gave croissants, tasty sandwiches, scones, and cakes.

Went to the Rox for a Saturday afternoon tea with six work colleagues and we had a fab afternoon. Quality and quantity of the food was excellent, as was the prosecco and cocktails! And we were so well looked after by the very friendly staff. Would certainly recommend it.

Had a lovely afternoon tea Inc prosecco with friends at Rox Hotel in the café bar. In comparison to other venues it scores highly in my opinion for quality, selection of food and price. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
