This was our second stay at Glenisla House and once again it was perfect for what we needed. We were visiting a local festival and coming straight from a Gretna Green wedding and Ann had gone to the trouble of providing bubbly, balloons and had even made a wedding cake, which was lovely and much appreciated. The kitchen has also been updated since we stayed last. The bedrooms are lovely and comfortable. The local taxi firm were also fabulous and arrived with more balloons and bubbly. We will certainly be back!
Comfortable and beautifully maintained, this guest house is perfect for the larger family or smaller group looking for a holiday rental in the historic Forfar, Angus County region of Scotland. The owner goes out of her way to make you feel welcomed.
Really happy with Glenisla House once again!
They reformed the kitchen and looks better than before.
As always, we were comfortable and we feel welcomed as before.
Thank you Anne
Absolutely beautiful accommodation within close reach of all local amenities. The hosts are friendly and knowledgeable and will gladly go out of their way to help you.
Would definitely recommend for couples, families or groups. Brilliant place to stay whilst taking in everything in Forfar and surrounding areas
Anne and Dave, thank you so much for having us at late notice!
We picked Forfar for our special family birthday celebration as it was ideally situated between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Anne genuinely wanted us to have a lovely stay in her wonderful cottage and was waiting there to greet us on our arrival to show us around. The welcome pack was extensive and included a lovelyTabouli salad and Forfar Bridies. The accommodation was spacious and the secluded well maintained garden area with BBQ a sun trap - we were lucky with the weather during our stay. We had our labrador with us and enjoyed a walk up the local hill and around Reid Park.
I stayed in overnight in June this year and had a wonderful stay. I was in the blue room and the bed was very comfortable, great sleep. I was greeted on arrival and made to feel very welcome. I would most definitely stay here again and am planning my next trip soon.
Stayed here 2 years ago for a big family reunion in Forfar, came back this month for another one! We are a party of 10, that is, 8 adults and 2 children plus one large dog! We all love this house and so do our extended family in the town. We made full use of the garden and barbeque, especially on the Sunday afternoon when there were 32 of us having a get-together - all well behaved Anne! My grown-up daughters always make use of the piano, which Anne has encouraged us to do, so we have a sing-song every day, some of us love the book collection, all of us love the games room in the basement, including our extended family, the older ones of whom are able to tell us more about the property and the family who lived there years ago. We all love the fact that it is a 200 year old property full of charm and character, warts and all, and that is its appeal.
We have always found the property to be clean, tidy and well prepared for us, with a very well equipped kitchen. We look forward to coming back in the future.
