Coming to the end of a fabulous stay at Cnocaruan . The cottage is superb, warm, stylish and spotlessly clean. We have stayed in many cottages and B&B's over the years but this one comes out at the top. Lovely kitchen with everything you could possibly need, coffee, tea, sugar, milk, biscuits, spices, oil and vinegar, wine and chocolates are all waiting for you on arrival. Upstairs the owners have provided shower gel and bath foam as well as hand wash. The beds are so comfortable and huge with lovely duvets and pillows so you are snug during the chilly weather we had. Towels are provided so you really don't need to bring your own. Downstairs in the sitting room there are two lovely sofas, a huge television, dvd player and music station with loads of dvd's, cd's, books and games to keep everyone entertained. But let's be honest the real wow factor of this cottage is the view! Right on the waters edge, watching the water rush back and forth over the falls of lora was amazing. Great wildlife to spot too, though we never saw the otter (just means we'll have to come back!) we did spot seals and lots and lots of different birds. There is even a pair of binoculars and a telescope provided. This is the most wonderful place to stay, within walking distance of a couple of nice pubs/restaurants and is in a great area of the country with loads to do. Huge thanks to Gabriella and George for a wonderful stay, we would recommend Cnoccaruan to anyone who wants somewhere to stay that is just that extra bit special.

“Wow - a fabulous place to stay!”
Reviewed October 21, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This is a beautiful cottage in an outstanding location. The owners, Gabriella and George, were extremely friendly and welcoming. We got the impression that nothing was too much trouble for them and they could not have been more helpful.
The cottage is immaculate and very comfortable. It has every creature comfort you could wish for and is a true home from home. You could not fail to be impressed by the sheer magnificence of the Falls of Lora which were framed by the cottage windows. There is much attention to detail lavished by the owners and it is clearly a place that they cherish.
We felt privileged to share their home if only for a week - any other guests would feel similarly privileged I'm sure. Many many thanks to Gabriella and George.

“A lovely cottage in a wonderful setting”
Reviewed September 15, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We have just returned from a week's stay at this lovely property which exceeded our already high expectations having read previous reviews. The location is spectacular, the cottage is furnished to a very high standard and immaculately clean. The owners are welcoming yet unobtrusive and this really did feel like a home from home. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone!

“GREAT”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

great location, very conveniently located a few km north of Oban, with a wonderful view over the Loch and the nearby Connel bridge, terrace just over the Falls of Lora. Large bedrooms, very nice sitting rooms and kitchen. Lots of useful things are included (salt, pepper, olive oil,...), dvd player, laptop with WiFi, walking maps... To find one (slightly) negative comment, let's mention that the bathroom is smaller and somewhat less comfortable that the other rooms.

“Everything you could possibly wish for for a relaxing holiday.”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This holiday property in the small village of Connel in Oban was outstanding. The views of the Falls of Lora and the Connel Bridge were to die for.

The accommodation was first class and all the extras (wine, chocolates, balsamic.toiletries etc) made the holiday extra special.

George and Gabriella were wonderful hosts and provided lots of great hints and tips regarding the local area. They even provided an 'otter'! We were fortunate enough to actually see it feeding and cavorting in the water below us on the second night of our stay.

Just like the otter,we took every opportunity to enjoy the fabulously fresh seafood on offer in the area. We can highly recommend the Waterfront restaurant on Kerrera. Having lobster, mussels and scallops al fresco at the harbour in Oban also not to be missed.
The local pub and restaurant 'Glue Pot' and 'Oyster Inn' are well worth a visit.

The house was a home from home and lovely to come back to after a long day holiday making.

Looking forward to our return!!

We had the most lovely 2 weeks stay at Cnorcaruan. Situated on the waterside with lovely views. Watched otters from the patio. The standard of accommodation was first class, very clean and comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and hospitable.

“This cottage is stunning!”

We stayed here for a week over New Year. This cottage is part of the owners property but self contained. The owners, George and Gabriella are very welcoming. On arrival we were met with wine, chocolates and shortbread! They have thought of everything to make this a home from home. We even had a Christmas tree and decorations. There is a laptop, all thing required for cooking, beautiful toiletries and much much more. The location is fantastic. The sound of the water drifting past is so relaxing. Watching the ever turning tides and the lovely falls of Lora is a joy. The tides are quite fast and watching the ducks go by backwards on the tide is amusing. We saw the coastguard go by and it's amazing how close you are to the passing boats. Hubby forgot cuff links and George was kind enough to lend him some. We dined at the local Oyster Inn. Food was ok but service was slow. We had asked about access to the bar for the Hogmany entertainment and to bring in the new year. We were dissapointed as the place was very overcrowded with very little seating and one person serving behind bar. We decided to head home to the cottage and brought 2013 in there. Glad we did now. There is no better setting. We found the cottage to be excellent value for money. We were close to Oban and visited a few times. Visited The Phoenix cinema. Great little place. Had a day trip to Fort William too. We would highly recommend this property but are afraid to because we are sure when other people read the reviews and visit , it will make it harder for us to return. The pictures are great, but don't come close to the perfect reality. Go see for yourself. We will strive to return in the future.
