“GREAT location, perfect for exploring the area”
Reviewed June 29, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We stayed for 5 days at end of June, 3 adults and a large German Shepherd :)

Great location and we found the property very clean, well appointed with good facilities. Wifi available- no phone signal but you can get one in the village. Good local info and maps etc- the cottage is a few minutes drive from the end of the Isle and well worth exploring: A great local shop and post office-
The Highland Arts Centre is quirky, the Oyster Brewery a good, simple pub. Good quick ferry service to the Isle of Luing, and as below- only 20 mins from Oban and great restaurants, ferry connections etc
Good for pets, lots of walks- MANY sheep! - and across the road easy access to the loch.
The cottage is spacious- with comfortable lounge and good well laid out kitchen- BUT- only one full bathroom. Upstairs has a small toilet/via septic tank and sink. Would recommend the cottage for two adults/with children, if you don't mind the one bath/shower.

Luckily we had no midges all week! Would highly recommend the Ardmaddy Castle/gardens only 5 mins away as well as St Conans Kirk- beautiful church near Inverawe.

“Perfect for family holiday”
Reviewed June 8, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We had a very nice short break. The cottage has everything you need on a holiday. The location is meanutes away from Oban ferrys and well connected to other western Isles. We had a wonderfull relaxed holiday, the wellcome pack is much appreciated.

“Beautiful property in an amazing location. A wildlife haven.”
Reviewed June 5, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Alma Cottage is a beautiful property. Spacious, warm, with everything you could need. As well as loads of rabbits, we saw voles on a number of occasions, darting between the logs in the garden, and also a deer in the overgrowth opposite the cottage. It was so quiet in the garden, all that could be heard was the hum of the bees.
We were lucky with the weather. I can recommend a trip to the islands of Easdale (our favourite) or Luing on a nice day. We also did a 3 hour Sealife Adventure trip. We were disappointed not to see dolphins or porpoises. Probably the wrong time of year. We did see grey seals, common seals, sea eagles, golden eagles and deer. It was great to look back at the islands from the sea. A truly stunning area.
The jacuzzi bath was a real treat at the end of a busy day, and the welcome pack a lovely gesture.
We would love to return here, and recommend it wholeheartedly.

“Spacious, comfortable cottage.”
Reviewed May 22, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Lovely cottage on the Isle of Seil. Very comfortable and dog friendly. Wine and toiletries a welcoming touch. The owners, Jean and Dave were very friendly and phoned and visited to check everything was OK for us.
{ I recommend booking a trip with Sea Life Adventures, 5 mins down the road. It is run by Dave and Jean and they offer a 10% reduction in price for people staying at their cottages (They also let Atlantic Cottage on the island). They kindly arranged for a lass to look after our labrador dog while we were on the boat trip. A very reasonable charge and she was a lovely, competent young woman.}
Alma cottage has everything you could possibly need. We have no negatives whatsoever. Bed is very comfortable. Loads of storage space. Washing machine and dryer. Conservatory. I especially enjoyed all the rabbits in the garden early in the mornings! Great cycling and walking. Pub 5 mins walk down the road. Tigh an Truish by the Bridge over the Atlantic. Excellent real ales and pub grub. The Oyster Bar and Restaurant at Ellenabeich is just a few miles away. Great ales and lovely food. Both very welcoming and dog friendly. Recommend sitting outside at the Oyster Bar, beautiful views. Easy access to Easdale and Luing. We loved Luing and visited twice using the ferry from Seil. This cottage is central for all activities. There is a well stocked shop at Balvicar 2/3 miles away. Oban is only a 20 minute drive away. Highly recommended cottage we would love to stay again. A real home from home.

A nice peaceful place to stay with lots of beautiful scenery all around the area. The cottage was really comfortable with everything you'd need. My kids have decided that they are going to move there
