“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

Stayed here last minute at the end of the Easter break. Booked on the day, service and room facilities excellent. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Superb central location, on the corner of the Royal Mile, 5 mins walk to the Grassmarket, same distance to the castle.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a central location for a "touristy" stay.

We stayed at Hotel Missoni over the Easter holidays.
It's located in a prime location on the Royal Mile within easy walking distance to all major sites.
Our room overlooked George IV Bridge street with the lovely Arthur's Seat as the backdrop.
You could hear the noise from the traffic below (we were on the 1st floor) however it certainly did not keep us awake at night.
All staff we encountered were more than helpful and seemed eager to please.
The room was decorated to a high standard and the bathroom with rainfall shower was an absolute standout.....if we could have stolen the whole room and fitted it on the train to London we would have!!!
Had a drink in the hotel bar on our first night.......it was quite busy so table sevice took a little longer than expected but the end result was definately worth the wait!
If travelling to Edinburgh I would definately recommend staying at Hotel Missoni....it won't disappoint!

Contrary to the many glowing reviews I've read here on this hotel I had an awful experience when I stayed here over the Easter bank holiday.
I had a room in the furthest corner of the 4th floor, On arrival the cups were dirty some of them had lipstick stains - which was disappointing for a 5*
Worst of all my windows were not soundproof so I didn't get any sleep, as the party goers walking along the Royal mile kept me up all night and the garbage trucks kept me awake in the early morning. It was actually torture and on checking out I wasn't even asked about my stay.

It wasn't all bad - the complimentary mini bar, free movies and the rainfall shower are wonderful, but if you can't get a good nights sleep at a luxury hotel...what's the point?

I was in love with the premise of the hotel and if you must stay here I would advise that you insist on a room away from the street.

Dear ‘lola s’

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay last weekend. We also appreciate the feedback we received via your booking agent and we hope they have forwarded on our response to you.

Needless to say, the issues which you faced are not the normal standard of service as you'll see from our great reviews. We take pride in offering friendly 5* service and would hope to be made aware of any problems at the time of your stay so we have the opportunity to resolve them immediately.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Hotel Missoni.

Best Regards,
Julianne Frith

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Hotel Missoni, and we would HIGHLY recommend it. It is located right off the Royal Mile and near Edinburgh Castle, walking distance to everything. Hotel Missoni was able to help us map out our day of sightseeing and everything they suggested was amazing (definitely do the free walking tour- AMAZING!!!)

We stayed here for two nights last week and absolutely loved it. It's my third trip to Edinburgh and this is my first stay so close to the Royal Mile, the best decision ever. Right opposite Deacon Brodie's Tavern, the hotel is so easy to find from the train station.

On arrival at 11.30am we knew we were early so weren't surprised to be told that our room wasn't ready, but we were given the option to change to a room that was ready, but we were in no rush so dumped our bags and went to explore.

At 1pm I got a phone call to tell me that my room was ready - excellent service. When we went back to the hotel our bag was already in our room, and it's little touches like this that set it apart from other hotels I've stayed at. We didn't ask for much while we were there but I got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. Lovely staff, lovely uniforms too!

Our room had a view of Athur's Seat, gorgeous. The room was great, really well designed. Fantastic rainfall shower and great toiletries, don't bother bringing your own.

The gym was great (can't believe I actually used it but there you are, had to run off all the haggis) the cocktail bar is also a great place to enjoy a fab (if a little expensive) drink before hitting the Royal Mile.

Loved it. Hope you do too!

Room Tip: Our view over Athurs Seat was great, no road noise despite the central location.

On arrival we were warmly greeted at the kerbside after the stressfull drive through the town centre and the one way systems and various detours due to roadworks etc. Check in was stress free and very friendly while our car was being parked for us. When we got to our room we found it to be extremely clean and very stylish indeed with nice little touches not found in other five star hotels.
We found the hotel staff to be extremely friendly and attentive and were given the feeling that nothing was any trouble for them at all. We had forgotten some items which were still in the car, the staff lept to our assistance and the items were even delivered to our room in no time at all!! Check out was easy and the gentleman who greeted us the day before and had parked our car even remembered our names! He took our luggage for us and got our car, he exchanged pleasantries with us for the day before we left.
This hotel provides the level of care and attention that has long been lost by other so called five star establishments where you get the feeling that your comfort and hotel experience is their priority! We have been impressed more by the little things that this hotel and staff provided us than the big things and we would not hesitate to return and make this our number one choice of hotel when staying in Edinburgh in the future!!!

The hotel is superbly situated just off the Royal Mile. It is modern, clean and welcoming. The staff are fantastic remembering our names and stuff we were doing etc along with helping us make plans / book cabs / check out menus etc.
Breakfast was lovely - very fresh with all the items constantly being replenished. I discovered Eggs Benedict - to die for!
Our room included a complimentary mini bar and films - there was a problem with the films when we were there, but as we saw these as a bit of a luxury it really wasn't a problem.

Would recommend this hotel with no hesitation.
