“Perfect location, wonderful cottage”
Reviewed October 4, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We (2 couples) stayed for 3 nights in September and loved Craigwell Cottage. The cottage is clean and comfortable and the facilities excellent. We were met by Susan who showed us around and provided plenty of advice and was available if required during our stay. The bedrooms are not huge, but a good size and very comfortable. The living / dining is big with good views and great facilities - plates & cutlery, teapot, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave, good fridge - a real home away from home. We were a bit worried when we heard cars on the cobblestones during the day as it was quite loud. However we never noticed it at night and all slept soundly.
The best aspect of this cottage is the location. It was about a 15 minute walk from the train station. It is one block from the Royal Mile and the Castle and Holyrood Palace are both within easy walking distance. In fact everything in Edinburgh is within walking distance (and we are in our early 60s). There is also a car parking space available which we did not require. We loved our stay in Edinburgh and have no hesitation in recommending Craigwell Cottage.

Edinburgh Cottage is a lovely cottage close to the Royal Mile, Scottish Parliament and Palace of Holyroodhouse. It is close to Waverley Station.

The Cottage was very clean and extraordinarily well equipped. A real home away from home. It was warm and cosy which was good in the early summer cold snap.

Susan was very helpful and Met us at the cottage. She provided a very nice 'welcome' pack and there is a lot of information available in the cottage on where to eat, groceries and attractions.

“Comfy and well set up self catering in great location”
Reviewed October 9, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

This is a fabulous property if you want flexibility during your stay in Edinburgh. The house was really well set up with lovely crockery, cutlery, a ... Tea pot! ... And a good range of cooking utensils. All of the equipment had a set of instructions, and Susan was available if there were any concerns. The location was great - a few minutes to Holyrood Palace, calton Hill, and Waverley station. And the Royal Mile was only a block away. There was also a load of information about local attractions The beds were comfortable, the shower hot , and it was pretty quiet too. We really enjoyed our time there.

“Fantastic location, and home from home”
Reviewed August 27, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here for 17 nights and it was like living at home. The place was clean and comfortable. The owners were so helpful and attentive. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a central base to explore Edinburgh but doesn't want to be confined by a hotel.

“Delightful Edinburgh cottage”
Reviewed July 9, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We loved our stay at Craigwell Cottage. The cosy cottage has everything needed for a home away from home. The light filled kitchen/ living room upstairs is just lovely. We were able to walk everywhere because of the cottage's close proximity to the famous sights of beautiful Edinburgh. The cottage is back from the main streets so it's quiet and peaceful. It's an easy 20 minute walk from the main railway station (Waverley) if arriving or leaving Edinburgh by train. Our host Susan made sure everything was in place for a problem free check in and 4 night stay.
Highly recommended.

“Great location, clean and comfortable”
Reviewed April 6, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Older family of 4, stayed in March. We found the accommodation perfect for our needs. Very clean and comfortable and has everything you would need. Position perfect for sightseeing all of Edinburgh without the need for transport, however a parking space is useful if needed. Really enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend to others.
