A lovely old building and the room we had was enormous and beautifully decorated with an amazing ensuite which had both a bath and a large shower. Immaculately clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable, probably one of the best mattresses I have slept on in a hotel. Room was to the front of the hotel so we were concerned it might be noisy but we both slept like logs. Only minor criticism were thar the pillows were nowhere near the same quality. The staff were very pleasant and most helpful with nothing being too much trouble. An thoroughly enjoyable breakfast rounded off an most comfortable stay.

My wife and I stayed here at the end of the Fringe as part of an annual work Fringe knees-up.
The hotel is in a great position away from the madness of the Fringe crowds, but close enough to the city centre to walk to the attractions.
The staff kindly allowed us to use their car park from early in the morning, as we had a full itinerary of events lasting through until the late evening.
Although we couldn’t access our room that early in the day, we were able to check in which provided us with a keycard for late access to the hotel and our room.
The room was large, the bed fairly comfortable but a bit hard.
The bathroom was also spacious, but the toilet was bizarrely tucked next to the sink making knee space rather limited.
Breakfast was served in an attractive and surprisingly light basement room.
Coffee was excellent, and the food was great.
Overall, a great stay, and the convenience of the position should attract any traveller to the city.
If mobility is limited and walking not an option, the public transport options are right on the doorstep.

The staff were very professional, the hotel clean and comfortable and breakfast was good. Extremely good value for the price paid.

A tiny walk to the central areas of Edinburgh, but a very peaceful are.

I stayed here for one night and wished it could have been for longer. Loved the location, lots of cafe's, shops and close to a good bus route to Princes Street, which is also in walking distance. Staff great and also restaurant.
