If you’re in the centre and need a break from the shops then the gallery is a must! So much to see and take in but it’s worth it! We spent around half an hour or so but could have spent more :)

Really enjoyed our visit here.
Lots of good art, a little gem of a find.
Free entry and a good cafe at the end of your visit.
Well worth a visit.

What can I say, nearly every place in Edinburg needs to be seen, if you don't go in at least look around the stalls and installations popping up around here. Also you may be lucky and see a live performance as musicians play here often.

A friend wanted to see Rembrandt's self portrait which is in the National Gallery. It is amongst a collection of some other well known painters. The Museum is very well laid out and it you can really get up close to the artwork. Above all entry is free.

All National Museums in Scotland are free and great to visit. The Scottish National Gallery is in between the old and new town so you can't miss it. Two great buildings with mostly Renaissance and 18-19th-century collections. It can get pretty busy, but you can take your time and admire the artwork. I found myself astonished many times, and now my favorite piece of art is in there
