Reception area was a little tatty but rooms were great and fairly spacious for a city hotel. The staff lovely and friendly too. You can’t beat this location for transport links and the sights of Edinburgh. Would stay here again.

the hotel was easy to locate and within walking distance from the railway station. The room was practical for our 2 night sightseeing trip although the soundproofing was not very good with quite a bit of noise. Overall we enjoyed the stay. the staff were very helpful and friendly. there were unlimited supplies of tea and coffee. the room was also tidied on the first night and restocked with tea and coffee, and also fresh towels if needed - we were not expecting this. We had a room with a shower although we learned afterwards that there were rooms available with a bath if preferred. Unlike other Travelodge's we have stayed in there was no dining room with breakfast facilities, just an (expensive) option for a snack breakfast. a voucher system did operate with a local restaurant which was reasonable on the 2-for-1 option. Otherwise, Witherspoon pubs were within walking distance for good breakfast. We would stay again and would recommend it to others

We were a group of 6 people and stayed for a week. The rooms always smelled fresh, the beds were always perfectly made, and the rooms and bathroom were always clean. The hotel staff were very friendly, interested in us and extremely helpful and cheerful.
