Just returned this morning from this lovely Hotel and Spa. I cannot rate my stay highly enough, I think for me it was the quality of the Customer service and Hotel staff, from the night porter to the Front of desk [Reception] staff.
I must thank especially the courteous, caring and helpful staff [especially the younger staff team [hopefully without sounding condescending as a older visitor] within the Steak House and Spa, I have never felt so special or welcome to a Hotel in quite a few years. Please treasure these young ‘uns if this how they start with MacDonald Group I can only accolade you on your Staff recruitment and selection.
Food- OMG Please someone agree with me on the Chicken Tikka it was probably one of best dishes I have tasted in many years [ and have had a few Tikka’s 😉]

My aunt and I stayed here for a spa week for my 60th birthday. From start to finish the staff couldn’t have been any more help. I am very unsteady on my feet and use a mobility scooter and my aunt has a walking stick.

We had four spa treatments each and it made us so relaxed. I would recommend the all over body wrap my skin felt beautiful afterwards. I’m quite unsteady on my feet but they were so supportive to both of us.

The food was very tasty and well presented. We were there when the menu was changed so a few different dishes. The tikka masala was so authentic well seasoned with Nan bread and rice. My aunt liked the slow roasted pork belly. Lots of dishes to choose from the only disappointment was there was no fillet steak but there were a lot of other dishes in the menu. My aunt has a colostomy bag and she has to watch what she eats and the staff were very accommodating.

The room was large and we had twin beds which were extremely comfortable with cotton sheets. There was an expresso machine and a full range of teas. There was UHT milk but if you called reception they would send along a small jug.

The swimming pool is very large and has sunbeds to the side as well as heated sunbeds. There is a disabled shower with a shower seat in it.

We could not fault our stay and the staff go beyond their duties. We have stayed a few times and we are going back in November for a pre Christmas spa weekend and I know we will be treated as friends when we arrive.

I'm not really one to write reviews but feel this needs to be done as there was too many things that happened when I stayed with my husband at the weekend.
Firstly we arrived at 15.10 to find our room wasn't ready yet, check in opened at 15.00. We were told at check in that there would be robes and slippers in our room. When we got to the room we found that there wasn't any robes or slippers so I had to go back to reception and request these.
When booking the hotel, I was advised that as we were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary that there would be a bottle of prosecco in the room with chocolates - there wasn't anything there. I had to say to reception about this.
We had treatments booked at the spa - the massages only lasted around 15 mins - yet were advised this was a 25 min treatment. After the massage, we went into the relaxation room to find a group of women talking from one side of the room to the other. Not relaxing at all. No water in the water tank, no one around to tell.
When we went for dinner - both myself and my husband ordered steaks - they weren't cooked the way we had asked for them to be done.
Breakfast the next morning - we went at 9.30am to find the staff were already clearing away the continental table. So if we wanted anything from there then we were snookered.

All in all we felt our stay wasn't as luxurious as we would have liked.
