Repeat stay

Review of Leapark Hotel
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 20, 2024
Had a repeat stay at the Leapark. Very friendly reception staff. Food especially good at evening meal. Did not have breakfast as we were leaving early.

Room was large and well equipped (shortbread and hot choc nice touch) HOWEVER we were in the annexe and because it was so near the road it was VERY noisy even with the windows closed. It was just an overnight stay but if we had been there longer I would have asked to be moved. On previous visits we were in rooms at the side of the hotel and we should have asked for a quiet room.

Room was needing a little TLC too.

Very handy for Edinburgh airport.
Date of stay: June 2024
Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road ie not in the annexe as very noisy from the traffic.

Had a lovely meal here on mother day. It was a set menu.
The Leapark certainly isn't the cheapest option. Starters and dessert average around £7/8. Mains around £14. They do have a special set menu, but of course they don't run these value for money options on mothers day.
However, the food is really nice and good quality. The staff are nice and friendly.
It's lovely and clean.
I did think it was a rip off though, when the £7.95 'sundae' came in a little kids style silver ice cream cup, 2 tiny scoops of ice cream, a drizzle of sauce and 4 pieces of honeycomb. With a 50p size dollop of cream. I assumed, wrongly, that a sundae would be in a tall glass with lashings of toppings and generous amounts of ice cream. £8 for a kids ice cream felt like I'd been scammed a bit.

Room tip: Don't order the kids sized sundae!

Restaurant menu extensive and includes dietary requirements like Gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff very customer friendly and helpful. Tables very set out to stop feeling overcrowded. Good sized widows and very well stocked bar. TV available to watch.

We have visited / stayed at this hotel on quite a few occasions over the past couple of years. It is a very friendly and pleasant place to stay. Our four and half years old daughter loves the place and the staff make her very welcome.
One downside is the family room No 5 which we have used 3 or 4 times, it is a really good sized room with 3 beds, a separate sitting area and a good sized bathroom. However, the decor is becoming very tired and dated in the bedroom with patched ceiling and wallpaper, and the bathroom is very similar. It has a jacuzzi style bath with an over bath shower, but the jacuzzi has not worked in all the times we have stayed there, and the shower could be a lot more powerful with a larger shower head.
The bar / restaurant is very nice with a varied selection of food choice, service is generally quick and prompt and as previously said, served by very friendly staff.

A lovely quiet place, I realy like staying here when I'm here on business, I've only spoken to the nice young lady on reception and she was so pleasant and helpful,
The room, very spacious with a 32'in TV, tea and coffee, heating at your control and air conditioning, very modern with a modern bathroom with a bath and shower, comfy bed with comfortable pillows.

Room tip: A nice quiet place to stay.

On first sight the hotel looks slightly ‘Soviet’. However, every staff member was very helpful and friendly, from reception to breakfast. Also, we were upgraded to a suite and it was lovely! No haggis for breakfast though. We had two nights and would go again.
