Another great visit to this convenient Holiday Inn Express, just off the M90.
As we booked late, we were allocated a Wheelchair Accessible room for our family. This room was a little larger than the usual HIX rooms, but just as clean and comfortable as always. The large, tiled bathroom was good, but a little cold on the feet in the middle of the night.
The only problem with the room was the bin men banging on while loading at 7.30 in the morning (a Thursday). We were getting up anyway, but still a bit of an annoyance if you were wanting to have a long lie. We were located on the 2nd floor, but apparently straight above the service entrance for the hotel.
As usual, the Holiday Inn Express start breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. By the time we arrived for breakfast at 8:30 / 8:45, we were practically the only ones there. It looks like the dining area has had a bit of a refurbishment, as it seemed a lot brighter and cleaner than our visit last year.
Usually for a last minute booking (about a week before staying), I was expecting the rate to be astronomical, but found the (approx) £65 pleasantly surprising.
All in all, a good stay. Thanks!More
