“Excellent cottage in the heart of St Andrews”
Reviewed 31 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Fantastic, very well presented and equipped cottage in the heart of St Andrews. Beaches, golf, sights and shops all a stone's throw away. Excellent holiday spot.

“perfect spot to enjoy St. Andrews”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

I came with three friends to play a week of golf in the St. Andrews area. We found this gem through TripAdviser and couldn't be happier. The flat is convenient to everything - courses, restaurants, shopping and the historic areas. Plenty of room for all of us plus our clubs. Parking was convenient after we came back from golf.

Only improvement we can think of is to improve internet by adding a repeater so that internet is available upstairs as it can only be received on the first floor currently. However, that is a minor comment compared to all the other great things about this place to stay. We hope to be back again.

Just to say we do now have a wi-fi repeater upstairs, so the wi-fi signal is strong throughout!

“SWEET SMELLING MEMORIES”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Unfortunately i am home now and only have the memory of our week at one rose lane.My father used to say that memories last longer than dreams and certainly the memory of one rose lane will be with me for a while. The property is modern and beautifully maintained.Three levels might not be the best thing for everyone but even with my 85 year old mother we found it maneagable. The location is wonderful with three great pubs only a short walk away and butchers bakers coffee shop and others in this village like location.Short walk to the old course(which we played) and the buzz of the centre of st andrews on you doorstep. We went with extended familly but think the place would also be great for my mates on the golf tour. God willing hopefully we will return next year

“Location, Location, Location”
Reviewed 3 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This is an ideal property for visiting St. Andrews with friends or family and has a homely feel to it. The whole property was of a high standard and has been extremely well looked after. Despite being right in the center of town with the windows right on South Street it was really quiet, and has been mentioned by others good for people watching.

We managed to land lucky and book for a weekend when the sun was out in force in St. Andrews, and there are plenty of bars with outside space especially the West Port which is only a minute down the road.

We would definitely recommend it and will hopefully be returning later in the year.

“Highly recommended”
Reviewed 8 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Loved this house. Couldn't be more central in St. Andrews with everything an easy walk. From sitting at the window seat in the lounge people watching (and being amazed at the waist length hair of some of the Madras schoolboys) to popping across the road to buy the most amazing chilli and cheese bread in the specialist cheese shop, eating amazing food in The Adamson (and meeting the Masterchef contestant who works there) to walking along the beautiful east coast of Scotland the whole experience was fabulous. The house itself is very well equipped and truly a home from home. The whole family agreed we would definitely go back.

“Quaint, confortable and ideal”
Reviewed 28 October 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Rose cottage is an ideal centre for getting to know St Andrews and its environs. Its position at the heart of the University town allows visitors easy access to everything and everywhere and it is easy to get into the surrounding countryside, especially the golf courses!

The cottage is maintained to a very high standard. It was immaculate and well equipped and the kitchen quite amazing - one could cater for the largest of house parties. Equipment is brand new and the proliferation of TVs and DVD players, plus bedside radios and clocks, thoughtful. Comfortable beds and quality linen with excellent bathrooms and and shower rooms make sharing with others hassle free, and the lay out over three floors means it is possible to get away from your companions and to have peace and quiet. the stairs are wide and been fit from the hand rail. Everywhere is carpeted and in colder weather I am sure it is a very cosy place to stay. Bedrooms are large enough for visitors to keep their golf bags with them should this for a reason for staying at the cottage!

furniture is modern and comfortable. The cottage is not overcrowded and is tastefully finished. There are guide books and DVDs and almost everything one would find at 'home' to make things easy.

Parking on the main street is relative easy at the right times of day and overnight although in high season - and we were there in early August - you have to take pot luck, preferring sometimes to leave your car in the nearby car park - a few minutes walk. Shops are incredibly close, and there is an excellent variety in the town.

Ideal for adults, families would have have to be prepared to walk out with children to exercise as there is no garden or courtyard. We did not find this a problem - indeed it made one explore the little historic corner of St Andrews that is home to the lovely Rose Cottage.
