Trefoil Apartment was a great choice for our short trip to Glasgow. We didn't want to be in the centre of the city but the location meant that it was easy to get to the centre either by bus or train (20 mins bus / 10 mins train). Parking was a challenge but we did manage to get a free parking space on Trefoil Avenue and once we'd parked we left the car alone and used the excellent public transport. Communication with the owner, David, was excellent, he even texted us tips on places to visit on our onward journey after we'd checked out. The apartment is really lovely with huge windows that let in the light and give it a very airy feel, and beautiful high ceilings. Decor and furnishings are contemporary and tasteful and the seating area is very comfortable. The whole place was spotless. There is a 'house' bathroom and a small en-suite so plenty of space for everyone. Comfortable beds, white sheets and fluffy towels always get a thumbs up from me. As is the case with most apartment blocks in older buildings, the communal stairwell could do with some attention and TLC but don't be put off by this because once the apartment door is opened it is like stepping into a different world. The fresh flowers are a lovely touch. Shawlands is a quite lively area of Glasgow with lots of bars and restaurants and is a great location if you don't want to be in the city centre. Thank you again David, it was a privilege to stay in your beautiful apartment.
A tip for David - please put some coasters around the place. One of my pet hates is putting cups and glasses direct onto tables etc. (even if they aren't supposed to mark) and I resorted to folding toilet paper into 'coasters' ...!!!
