My daughter and I recently stayed here for the second time whilst in the city to visit the SECC. We like the view of the Kingston Bridge and River Clyde from the higher floors and our twin room was spacious and clean. This time we used the leisure pool which was heated to the perfect temperature.

There was a wide selection for breakfast and the waiting staff were very attentive and polite.

On our first night I was woken by an awful lot of noise in the corridor outside our room. I was kept awake from 1:30 - 2:30 with a few lulls in the racket in between. Eventually I phoned reception and they quickly sent someone up to deal with it. I guess that's one of the hazards of staying in a city hotel at the weekend. Apart from that we slept extremely well. The pillows were incredibly comfy!

Room Tip: Higher floors have a great view.

Me and my fiancee enjoyed our stay very much at this hotel. Having stayed at the Radisson and the Grand Central before, the location of this hotel is not as good but it really is a short walk into the city centre. Very pleasant and nice staff at check in. Our standard room was not exactly huge but very comfortable and the king bed excellent! There was no minibar in the room, but there were ice machines on every floor so you could still have cold drinks. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

We have stayed at this hotel many times but in the last six years have tried other Glasgow Town centre hotels, whilst deciding on a last minute break we managed to get a good deal here and went back to find good service, clean rooms and a very pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Glasgow although it is at the far end of Argyll Street its a quick walk into town or there are always taxis around to take you where ever you wish to go.

Room Tip: if you choose a high floor there is very little noise

Had an excellent 2 night stay at this hotel. Clean and comfortable. Meals a bit expensive and was not happy paying for parking on top.

Stayed at this hotel for a wkend . firstly on asking about parking for a visitor that was coming to see us just for an hr our first evening, lovely receptionist told us that the visitor didnt need to pay as they would only be there for a short while and to let them know the car reg. We were willing to pay but since they kindly offered we did as they asked, which we thought was really nice of them but we were willing to pay the £2 parking fee. On our visitors arrival my husband went to tell the receptionist (which wasnt the same lady now behind the reception) that our visitor had arrived and could we leave the car reg. A shocking reply of "u pay the parking fee", when my husband explained that we were willing to pay but the receptionist earlier had said............. the young lady replied " l'm the assistant manager and i know the parking system, u pay at the machine , but u have 15 mins grace, my husband tried to explain but no this little lady was flexing her muscles and wasnt having any of it. Anyway we paid the parking, which was no problem we were going to do that in the first place anyway, but to be spoken to like that from a jumped up little madam was not becoming of a marriott hotel or any hotel.
We carried on our evening and our guested left and the nice frist lady asked us did we leave the car reg with anyone, we explained what had happend and she apologised on behalf of the "assistant manager" resulting in us getting all our parking for free, which wasnt the point, we never saw ,let alone got an apology from the "assistant manager" not good policy in our book.
That wasnt the end of our problems tho. On our 2nd evening, coming back to the room, my phone charger had been swaped for an old charger, my phone is a blackberry and had been swapped for a blackberry charger but mine was a universal charger! on phoning straight away the reception said they would be looking into it first thing, In the morning no one knew what we were talking about , on explaining what happend, immediate defence, that the housekeeping person had been with them for years , had no trouble before etc etc, they said they would check the key cards and see who all was in our room, only us and housekeeping, well hello, she / he is ur THIEF, i cant believe that in a Marriott Hotel i got a phone charger stolen !!!!!!! makes us wonder what else has been stolen . we offered to get police but they said they would try and sort out with their security, we havent heard back , knorr do we think we will !!!!
Very angry and upset, we dont get away very often and thought to spoil ourselves we would got to the Marriott, we were told by others to go next door to the Hitlon wish we'd listening but we will use Hilton Hotel on our next visit. Advice to anyone going to stay in the Marriott, keep all ur stuff under lock and key

Room Tip: avoid 6th floor, Thiefing housekeeping!!!
