We returned here after a while despite living nearby. It’s a busy bustling place and is clearly very popular at all times, lunch and dinner. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The food is pitched at the higher end of the pizza/pasta range, with squid ink risotto , seafood pasta and so forth plus special dishes of the day. My wife tried the lasagna as its one of her favourites in another well known west end Italian chain. She found it cool in places and served in a pasta bowl without an oven baked appearance suggesting it might have been microwaved. My scallop risotto from the specials I felt lacked intensity of flavour and again appeared to have been microwaved. We both had sweets-tiramisu and affogato served with a measure of Disaronno. Despite it’s roaring success in the heart of the west end the food could be better in my view

Food was good even on a diet I managed to feel fed. A bit on the expensive side, but, never let price get in the way of a good feed.

My husband and I met friends with their children for an early Friday night dinner. Lovely atmosphere and couldn't fault the staff. However were were surprised to be told that there was no children's menu (it is after all a family restaurant); our waiter said that the kitchen could make a tomato pasta for the kids. They charged us £7 for this; it was just a simple bowl of penne with tomato sauce, not worth £7! My husband had the saltimbocca and it was £15! Very expensive. Don't think we will be back anytime soon.

My daughter and I showed up without a reservation. Thankfully there was room at the bar. We had low expectations - boy we were wrong. She had the pizza with the Parma ham. Very good. I had the taglietti with squid ink - out of this world. Decent wine to go with it. And a low bill. What’s not to like? We will return
