If you judge accommodation by its wifi read no further as I have no idea. Still with me? Listen - do you want to know a secret, do you promise not to tell? The Old Ministers has got to be the best guest house in Scotland (or indeed anywhere). There are 4 rooms - the one I had was enormous with luxury (ok faux Scottish) fixtures & fittings. Very clean and comfortable. A minibar in the room with real milk for tea and proper coffee. Each day replacement treats of cakes and biscuits, and of course complementary bottles of water. Final touch was TV with DVD player - downstairs a massive DVD library (for those occasional wet days in the Cairn Gorms). Also downstairs a very comfortable lounge with honesty bar feature extensive range of gins (with tonic, lemon & limes). Outside pleasant garden overlooking a tributary of the nearby Spey. Located a short walk from Aviemore (easy to reach the station if you don't have a car). on the doorstep all the wonders of the Cairn Gorms. Fantastic.

Room tip: all rooms have views.

Firstly what a warm welcome from the owner. There is a lovely feeling as soon as you walk into this luxury Scottish home. Our accommodation upstairs was luxurious with stunning views ( even from the loo )
Treats and extras in our room were delightful, especially the Carmel shortcake and home baking.
Breakfast choice and quality of food first class. Thank you Lorraine we will be back

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Old Minister's House while we were in the area to do some hiking and visit the Cairgorm Reindeer Centre. From check-in to check-out we had an absolutely wonderful stay. The house, common area, and breakfast room were all beautifully decorated and very clean as was our spacious ensuite room. There are even some delicious homemade shortbread cookies and sherry in the room that are complimentary. Added touches that make a real difference.

Breakfast was among the best we had on our trip in Scotland. There's a selections of cereals and toast as well as coffee, tea, and juices to start. The menu containing several main hot meal options, all of which are cooked fresh, would give even the pickiest eater trouble on deciding which meal to take. If in doubt, I'd highly recommend the eggs Benedict though.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

For the discerning traveller, this is the ultimate in guest house experiences. Delightfully appointed rooms more akin to a quality hotel with all the little extras provided. The breakfasts were superb - locally sourced and wide ranging options. The owners also provide a hugely extensive range of gins (a dozen or so) which were amazing. An intensely relaxed stay enabled by a genuine warmth from the owners.

Thank you for your lovely review and I am so delighted that you enjoyed your stay.

Sounds like we have another convert to a Scottish Gin !

We look forward to welcoming you back, there are still a few peaks to conquer in the Cairngroms.

This was our first trip to the Cairngorms and we were absolutely delighted with our three nights at The Old Ministers. Our hosts were very friendly, the accommodation was extremely clean and well furnished. Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had with delicious cereals, juices, fruit and full cooked etc. A big thank you. Simon
