We stayed in Thurso because it was cheaper that hotels further west. Not sure when the hotel had been done up but the rooms are great, clean, fresh and the shower is fab. My only disappointment was the scrabled egg for breakfast wasn't the best and a bit cold. The smoked salmon however was great and the fry up was very good too. The staff were all friendly and I really rate this hotel - I will be back!

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Not sure if you mentioned about the scrambled egg at the time and not sure why it would not be at same temperature as the full Scottish but it doesnt seem to have been a huge issue- will hopefully do better next time. Hope to see you again, Sandra

The hotel itself is of a reasonably good standard with regards to the decor etc and the rooms are fairly large but it just lacks any real atmosphere or character. In all honesty I can't say it's bad but it's just lacking that something that sets it aside from everywhere else.
The food in the restaurant is very mediocre and I would suggest that they have a serious look at that even the presentation is lacking, note to chef - some wilted lettuce below four battered mushrooms and two dollops of garlic mayo does not make for a quality starter.
On a plus point the pressure in the showers is enough to strip roughcast!!

We stayed here on the 4th stop of our North Coast 500 road trip. After staying in some beautiful hotel with stunning views we were a little disappointed with the location of the hotel (along the road from some blocks of flats and overlooking the rear of Tesco - however I imagine the hotel was there first so can't blame them for that).
When we got in the room though we overlooked the adjacent rugby pitch which looked nice so we couldn't complain.
We really needn't have worried - this was by far the best hotel we stayed in once inside. Lovely warm welcome and friendly, pleasant staff; huge, very comfy bed with soft pillows; nice touches like single use coffee filters rather than just sachets of instant; and a large, very powerful shower and soft towels you could wrap yourself up in they were so large. Room was spotlessly clean. As the hotel is on a main road there was some road noise in the morning as we had the window open but it wasn't too noisy and we were up anyway.
We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, unfussy food but tasty and decent portions and price. After dinner we went into the public bar and ended up playing pool with two friendly local customers and were made very welcome.
All in all a lovely stay in an excellent hotel. Highly recommended.

Room tip: Room at the back probably quieter if you want to leave the window open

Everything from check in to breakfast was excellent at the Park. This is the best hotel by far that we stayed in during a 5 day trip round the north Coast. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The room we had was recently renovated and was spotless with en suite giving us ideas for our own bathroom at home! We had an enjoyable meal with a very nice breakfast next morning. Huxley Pig (wifes hot water bottle!) would have been left behind had it not been for the quick thinking cleaner who found him and a phone call later wife and pig reunited! Next trip up north, the Park will be on the itinery for sure!

Room tip: Go for rooms 1 to 6 (new build)
