“Perfect place to stay!”
Reviewed December 2, 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Although I struggled to find the cottage at first it is a fantastic little place near Thurso! It offers fabulous views with amazing sunsets and sunrises! Interior was lovely and modern, which gave a real homey feel. Even though it was cold when I traveled here in November it was still worth it! The cottage stayed warm, and the beds were warmer! :)

Will have to try here again in the summer time!

“Excellent cottage”
Reviewed August 28, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The cottage is well presented and clean, all the facilities you need are built in, the views take in Dunnett Head, Hoy, Mey Castle. The wildlife is constantly changing with resident seals, Fulmars, oyster catchers present all the time. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday and would highly recommend this cottage.

“Very Relaxing”
Reviewed May 27, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

The cottage was fantastic and the views stunning, the photos really don't do it justice. It was very relaxing & peaceful just sitting looking at the scenery and listening to sea.

We would recommend going on the tour of Castle Mey, it was really interesting and the kids loved it. Also, a visit to Whaligoe Steps is a must and the cafe there does absolutely superb food.

Hopefully we will back again next year, throughly enjoyed our break away.

We were pleasantly surprised on arrival as the pictures simply do not portray the size, atmosphere and quality of the bungalow. Quality of the fixtures and fittings and the generous proportions of each room could really not be improved upon. The view from the bungalow is amazing regardless of the weather and it's very difficult not to get mesmerised by the sight and sound of the waves crashing over the rocks just yards from the window. The only slight criticism is if anyone arrived when dark, the bungalow would be quite hard to find as directions not quite detailed enough but ok in daytime hours. Outstanding holiday and sad to leave. We would highly recommend this bungalow for anyone who a peaceful and tranquil holiday.

“A little patch of paradise”
Reviewed September 2, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This was my 2nd stay here in 2013 - spent one week back in April with a friend from California, then two in July/August with my husband and 2 teenage kids. Both times we were blessed with great weather.

For anyone who loves to be near the ocean and likes peace & quiet... this is the place for you. Every window boasts a view of the water with spectacular sunrises and sunsets to feast your eyes upon. There is direct access to a fabulous rocky beach, wonderful for exploring tide pools.

The beds are comfy, the kitchen well equipped and there is ample room for the whole family. The wi-fi was reliable and a real bonus for all of us. My only wish would be for the garden to be enclosed so our dog could have a bit of freedom off-lead.

We took our bikes and enjoyed much time cycling around the wee roads and also in nearby Dunnet Forest... which is also an awesome place to walk dogs. There is a spectacular white sandy beach 10 mins away by car and several other places well worth a visit; Dunnet Head is the most northerly point of Britain, we took a day trip to Orkney and also travelled west right across the top of Scotland to visit Smoo Cave... Not to mention chilling out reading books and becoming holiday 'boat spotters' by tracking the ships passing from country to country.

You won't be disappointed with this property - a real home from home. The owner is a delight to deal with and the local contact lady is lovely and happy to help.
