Our room was tired. The freestanding furniture needed a lot of TLC as do the carpets in the hall and stairs.
We understood that breakfast was included and on check in we were advised it was £30.00. As we had been to a wedding and had over indulged for some days we decided against it. This hotel has the most fabulous location and with some effort it could be a Grand Hotel again.

Room Tip: Get a river view room

Dear JGriffith13,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay with us and for your constructive comments. We hope that you enjoyed the celebrations at the wedding that you attended.

We have recently invested in the property to include carpets and furniture throughout the ground floor including the Drawing Room and Cocktail Bar which certainly look very impressive. With regards the rooms we have upgraded them in terms of bedding and soft furnishings and in the next stage we will look at the bathrooms.

The hotel is in a lovely location and we are very proud of the excellent service that our team provide.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Kind regards,

Nigel

We stayed two nights off season with the luxury late deal. We did not have time to enjoy the afternoon tea service offered unfortunately but from what I saw it was quite lovely.
The grounds of the hotel are quite charming and the common areas of the hotel are beautiful. Our room however could use some updating. We were in a "deluxe" room which was the last room in the attic I believe. The room was small but cozy and did have a gorgeous view of the beauty firth but the bed was way too firm. There were also a lot of gnats and the bathroom could use some freshening up. There was mold around the tub, etc.

Dinner was excellent but not suitable for picky eaters or vegetarians as it is very game heavy and they aren't partial to substitutions. Scottish breakfast was nice. The pancakes were clearly store bought and frozen, though.

Overall, it's charming country hotel with excellent service but is in need of some updating and picky eaters or vegetarians should not expect to dine at the hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the beauty firth

Dear Cassandra V,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your recent stay and for your constructive comments.

The luxury late deal is a fantastic offer; but this does not distract from the point that on this occasion we did not meet your expectations and as such please may I offer you my personal apology. We have taken on board your comments with regards updating some of the bedrooms.

I am pleased to hear that your dinner was excellent and please may I assure you that we very much do cater for all dietary requirements but do very much prefer advance notice so that the kitchen can prepare a special menu. Please may I assure you that the pancakes are home made as they are simply too good to enjoy on a daily basis.

We are very proud of the hotel and the excellent service that the team deliver but do very much take on board your constructive comments.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Kind regards,

Nigel

As I write this review, I'm actually in the dining room having a lovely breakfast, looking out at the stunning views from the window. We found this hotel on trip advisor the night before our stay and booked straight away. £81 including breakfast - what a bargain! The hotel is stunning, the staff friendly and the breakfast really hit the spot! For the price of a Travelodge? The hotel is so cosy and welcoming and we loved every minute of it! The information leaflets in the room were excellent too - a bit of humour goes a long way to make your stay more memorable. The complimentary chocolates left in the room were also a lovely gesture. The sunset over the water was amazing! Great start to our motorbike trip on the NC500! Will definitely be back!

Dear Stevie V,

It was a pleasure to welcome you both to the Highlands; and thank you for such a lovely review.

Looming out of stunning natural surrounds, you could be forgiven for mistaking the impressive turrets of Bunchrew House Hotel’s 17th-century mansion for a fairytale castle. The baronial estate sits in 20-acres of tended grounds that sweep down to the at once wild and tranquil Moray Firth waterfront. A classic Scottish pile with a backdrop of rugged Highlands, Bunchrew House Hotel lies on the outskirts of Inverness with access into the town and also to the wild mountains and lochs of the area.

Retaining its baronial style, the grand country house is surrounded by pretty woodland and oozes Old World charm. From the classic, cosy bedrooms with lovely garden or sea views, to the refined restaurant and logs fires of the drawing room, this is classic Highland-luxe. The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence-winner champions local, seasonal food and historic traditions, for a quintessentially Scottish stay.

Thank you for your kind comments about the team which is very much appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming you both back again soon.

We took my cousin here for afternoon tea as a treat before she had her baby and we had a lovely afternoon. The food was beautiful and the staff were very attentive. I have had several afternoon teas and this is definitely one of the best, can't wait to go back!
