Description: Open since 1995, the simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness’s favourite restaurants. The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes. The addition of the terrace on the top floor allows alfresco dining and uninterrupted views of the River, another amazing asset for the restaurant.

I have never in my life tasted "Black Pudding Bon Bons with galic/herb aioli" - surely black pudding is something to have with fried egg and bacon for breakfast - wrong - these bon bons were most tasty !! For main course it was Pan-fried Hake over bacon and peas with barley - a delicious combination. Well done Chef !!!

We booked our dinner in advance as we were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary and wanted everything to be perfect. The Mustard Seed didn't disappoint at all and they made the whole evening feel extra special, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. The food and service was excellent (my husband said it was the best steak he had ever had) and the restaurant had a lovely ambience...we couldn't fault any aspect at all.

We had dinner here our last night in Inverness. We took a chance and walked in without a reservation to find out the only available table was on the balcony overlooking the River Ness, it was perfect! We had a wonderful meal from the appetizer to dessert! The service was friendly and professional. Highly recommend eating here!

We ate here on our last night in Scotland and our only disappointment was that we hadn't found it sooner. Beautiful food. Early bird menu was very reasonable. We will be back during our next visit to Scotland.
