“A Hidden gem”

Having booked on line we arrived to find the B&B tucked away toward the end of an ascending cull de sac which runs parallel to, and sitting above the A82 overlooking the loch and is located about a miles mostly level walk from the train station although the A82 is on a bus route and there is a bus stop at the end of the road on the A82. The street has very little vehicle traffic and is in a quiet residential area.
We were in the area sightseeing and walking having travelled there by sleeper train and stayed for three nights in the twin room (room 3). The property is detached 3 roomed B&B which is set down below road level accessed from the off road parking area by a steep flight of steps. It is decorated and cleaned to a very high standard within both communal areas and rooms. Within which we found we had all the home comforts needed, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer etc. The beds were comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. The en suite bathroom was spacious and clean with an enclosed power shower and towel’s soap, shampoo and shower gel provided. The room was serviced daily. Check in time was between 16:00 & 20:00 and a check out time of 10:30. Evening meal and packed lunches were available but we did not use this service, but we did have the breakfast which was freshly made to a high standard with a varied traditional and vegie menu that you have to choose from by 20:00 the night before specifying you service time. The dining room has some great views over the loch and hills beyond.
In all a very nice clean and well run B&B with everything we needed. Our perfect host couldn`t have been more helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble and she made our stay memorable. We would certainly return and stay there again.

Just an apology for mixing up equally lovely accommodation and host with our accommodation with Margaret in Isle of Man. This is my second attempt, today.
Thinking of you as we plan a trip to eastern USA & Canada next year. Your kindness and warm welcoming manner just helps people who are far from home from feeling isolated. Thank you for your kind offer to do some washing for us but we couldn't take take advantage of your generosity. The recommended launderette was very handy while we waited for the exchange of our troublesome hire car.

The Aros Ard guest house is very satisfactory although I am not sure why it is a "five star" lodging, or how it could possibly be rated as superior to all the many other bed and breakfasts in Fort William. The bathroom had no shower, only a tub with shower attachment, and a worn carpet floor. The "king" bed was a queen at best, and not outstandingly comfortable. The view was certainly nice, and breakfast was fine, if not remarkable. The guest house was located at some distance from the town center. It was a pleasant walk, but not the most convenient distance from the restaurants in town. Our hostess was friendly.

For anyone considering the Aros Ard guest house in the future, be warned that when booking on a site such as booking.com, there is an instant 20% cancellation fee, which takes effect immediately. When I booked the Aros Ard during the planning for my trip, I inadvertently entered the wrong dates, but I was stuck with them. Since the dates I actually wanted were fully booked, I had no choice but to pay the 20% fee or to completely rework my itinerary. This policy left me with a bad feeling about the whole experience.

Firstly I would like to point out that we are a 4 Star B&B and not a 5 start as you have claimed.
Secondly, if you check your bill you will see that your 20% deposit was carried over to your new booking and deducted from your new booking.
Thirdly you booked a room with a bath, not a shower. you are the first person to complain about the room check other reviews.
and lastly we advertise that we are a mile from towm.

My pal and I were walking the west highland way, and this was our last night. We weren't expecting much but were delighted with both the accomodation and welcome we received. The whole place was spotless and the owner admitted to us she hoovers the rooms on the days they are empty! We thought the rooms were tastefully decorated and the location was a quiet one. We really couldn't think of any way this place could be improved and the owner even admitted that pretty much her only 'criticism' from visit Scotland was that her toast wasn't in a triangular shape!!! Owner was a wee delight, the sort of person you would love to have as a friend or lovely relative. Would definately recommend this one as it would not disappoint- 10/10.

Rated this B&B a '5 - Excellent', in all areas except for location, as it may not be entirely accessible for older people and with disabilities. (Main entrance is down a flight of steps). On the plus side, the owners of the B&B were very friendl and welcoming and made our stay extremely pleasant. I would definitely recommend this B&B to my friends and would stay here again.

The B and B is one of the best I have even been. The room was very clean, very well decorated and everything you need is right there. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was very well prepared and taste was great. Everything was made fresh as well. Although we have stayed there for only one night, I would say this one is an excellent place to go in Fort William. High recommended!

The guest house was perfect. Everything immaculate and nothing too much trouble for the manager. Breakfast was perfectly cooked to order. Only down side was that the breakfast needed to be ordered the night before by 8pm and one day when we were out for the day we felt pressured to get back to give in our order!! I probably prefer a larger place. But Aros Ard is ideal if you like being made a fuss of.
