Found this place through Trip Advisor. Off the beaten path for sure but well worth the detour. Great food and service and a resting spot for hikers passing through.

Seven chaps in our late fifties and early sixties chose to climb Ben Nevis. We all successfully reached the top and managed to all get down unscathed albeit, some of us took 3 hours to get down and some 5 hours. The difference in time is fairly important as the staff at the Ben Nevis Inn were so helpful in making sure we were all fed and watered.

We asked the staff if they could manage to keep the kitchen open as some of our party were still coming down the mountain. They managed to pull out all the stops and all of us ate just about the best burgers we have ever tried. They were excellent.

If you don't climb Ben Nevis this place is worth visiting . If you do climb Ben Nevis then it is a must, you will be so well looked after.

Simply outstanding.

Ate here twice in our week at Fort William, such great food and service. Extensive gluten free options and they even provided food from the evening menu in the early afternoon to support my diet after a long hike down from the summit. Worth the visit and can’t wait to return. Best gluten free sticky toffee sponge I’ve ever had.

Situated at the foot of one of the Ben Nevis tracks, this is a great place for a meal, whether you’ve just climbed the Ben or are looking for somewhere picturesque for a meal. The restaurant is in a converted barn and the seating is rustic (bench seating). The service is prompt and the staff friendly, the menu varied and the portions generous. We enjoyed both the ham hock and the venison burger and would like to have returned the following evening when there was live music, but unfortunately they were fully booked. Would come again if we were in the area – but would make sure we booked in advance!
