We stayed in Fort William and visited the Grog and Gruel each evening. On the Friday they had a live music session with local people joining in with a fiddle and bagpipes. Great atmosphere and nice and busy but not too loud.
They have a great range of food available in the bar and also upstairs in their restaurant which has a bigger selection of Mexican food. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night and then drank in the bar downstairs. Food was excellent and great value. The bar staff were great, we brought our dog with us each evening and they were very attentive of him. We spent an excellent New Year's Eve in the bar, even though it was very quiet (people were spending it at other venues with dances/live music) it had a great friendly feeling and we were treated like local regulars. Samuel and Catherine who were working each night we were in were fantastic. I would definitely visit here again and have recommended it to other friends too. Thanks for a great New Years.
