In Kyle of Lochalsh for 2 nights and looking for fresh seafood. Dinner first night was excellent, so we went the second night and dinner was equally good. Note - some parking is available at the end of the station near the water.

With staying between the Isle of Skye and Dornan, the options for dinner were not many. One spot, however, had great reviews: The Waterside Seafood in Kyle of Lochalsh. Based on the reviews, we stopped before lunch time on our way into the Isle of Skye to make a reservation for that night. We were glad to have one, because we saw all walk-ins being turned away while we were there. Being on the dock, their menu is handwritten on a blackboard, based on what the ships brought. That day, we ordered the scallops as appetizer – melt-in-your-mouth and buttery wonders – and one order of the langoustines and one of the monkfish. The langoustines could not have been fresher, and the monkfish was tender and accompanied by a rich, creamy coconut curry sauce. We finish our meal with some homemade profiteroles – a perfect, sweet treat to round a great dinner. We strongly recommend the Waterside Seafood if you’re in the vicinity. We would go back every opportunity we’d have.

The restaurant is located on the railway platform which is quaint as is the decor. The restaurant is small and has a lovely warm feel.

The menu is listed on a couple of blackboards. We selected the oysters and crab meat to start with followed by monk fish in herb sauce and sea bass with mussels in a red curry sauce and finished with a sherry trifle to share. We were pleased with all our choices - I think the sea bass might be the nicest seafood dish I have ever eaten!
The staff were chatty making us feel at home form the time we arrived.
There is a nice selection of wines , whiskeys and gins.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

Great service by friendly staff. I had a fish starter and salmon for a main course. The food was cooked perfectly. Beer was a little expensive at nearly £5 for a 330ml bottle.

Very popular seafood restaurant with a wide choice of options in both food, wine and local beers. Second year that we've visited and it won't be the last. We visited twic this year and both times the food was well presented and well cooked. The restaurant has a daily changing menu, so be prepared for whatever was caught that day. Oysters seemed especially popular. If you do intend to visit I suggest that you book otherwise you're likely to be disappointed.
