We enjoyed an excellent weekend in Pitlochry, Fonab castle was perfect from the start with a worm welcome on Friday evening.Stunning views to go with breakfast and evening meals. The rooms were very spacious and extremely comfortable. Faultless.

Never before have I been provided with so much interesting information about a hotel on arrival. There is an ease in the way the staff go about their business of making your stay all it can be, a comfort that comes from being looked after by professional people who are at the absolute top of their game. The hotel is superbly maintained making it a joy to be in regardless of what the weather has in mind. It is my aim to return when I can to enjoy what the area and hotel have to offer, not a cheap away day but a bargain nonetheless.
We treated ourselves to a night away before Christmas and are so glad we did. All of the staff were lovely and helpful throughout. Unfortunately we couldn’t have a drink in the lounge or with dinner, or have use of the thermal suite in the spa due to covid restrictions, but the complimentary bottle of wine to have in our room and the lovely dinner made up for it. We will definitely be back to make full use of the hotel when we can.
We stayed for two nights in one of the loch view lodges. Our room was immaculate and the bathroom facilities were wonderful. The bed was extremely comfortable too. Staff were extremely helpful, presented well, and were extremely pleasant during our stay. The food in the Brasserie was excellent and we were spoiled for choice at breakfast. I cannot recommend Fonab highly enough and already look forward to our return.
We booked this hotel as a special treat to celebrate my retirement. We paid for the most expensive castle Signature room. I'd phoned in advance to ask which room to book. What a disappointment of a hotel and so expensive! Its basically trying to be something that it isn't and it isn't a castle! When we arrived the welcome card hoped that I was fully recovered from illness! Great start! The 'luxury' room was just ok and the bathroom was cold and very tired; in desperate need of decoration.
The restaurant food was just about ok and very overpriced. The waitress looked shocked when I asked if there were any vegetarian options. She came back from the chef and said they could do me a broccoli risotto - really?
We stayed for 2 nights, paid the enormous bill and left - never to return!
Staff could not have been more efficient.nothing to much bother for the at this time.family enjoyed the swimming pool.rooms were very well presented .we were all in the lodges next door to one another which was excellent for us food and service in restaurant was exceptional.
