We stayed at the Atholl Arms for the second time at the end of March 2012. We'd been once previously for a wedding three years ago and liked it very much, which is why we booked here again. We had the dinner/room/breakfast package, which was amazingly good value for money. Our room was large and the bed comfortable, though the mattress would not suit everyone, being quite firm and a little lumpy. Dinner was very nice, the portion sizes very large (too much for us!) and the service quick and attentive. We slept well and had a good breakfast, remembering what we learned on the last visit about the Scottish habit of not taking the teabags out of the pot and simply topping up with hot water as required. The location is great for access to all the local attractions, especially Blair Castle which is literally across the road and can be walked to directly.

Room Tip: Definitely worth the little bit extra for a "superior" room.

Had a fantastic meal on Thursday night! Stayed at the camp site Blair Atholl... Would recommend this hotel for food. Very little choice in the area.

We were using a voucher from 5pm.com which entitled us to prosecco afternoon tea, a nights stay and breakfast.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The stand out feature was the level of customer service shown by all staff. They made you feel so welcome and tended to every need.

Decor is lovely old school Scottish manor house!

Highly recommend it!

Booked with 'booking.com' and received what I would consider to be the best value single room offered to me in the UK. The room was spacious and fresh with good quality towels and toiletries. The staff were all extremely pleasant and efficient. Dinner in the Bothy Bar was excellent and breakfast menu offered a good selection, with freshly cooked breakfast.

Perfect atmosphere, Super Log Fires.
Very friendly staff.
Clean rooms.
Could only find fault with under done grilled tomatos and Raw chips.
All in all I would be very happy to make a return visit.

On our way north for a long weekend and we bought the 'Afternoon Tea with Prosecco and B&B for £59' deal and although we arrived late it was no trouble to the staff to serve the afternoon tea. It was above average with fresh sandwiches, lovely fruit scones with cream and jam, meringues, a good pot of tea and hot water and a chilled bottle of Prosecco. Our room was fine, my wife loved the cuddly lamb and I enjoyed the comfortable bed. The floor did have a major slope which was interesting to say the least. The bar food was very good, had very good fish and chips. I would definitely recommend the hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful

We bought the 'Afternoon Tea with Prosecco and B&B for £59' deal and it proved a VERY good deal. I was quite worried about what to expect after reading the negative comments previously posted on Trip Advisor but the afternoon tea was above average with fresh sandwiches, enormous fruit scones with cream and jam, meringues, a good pot of tea and hot water and a chilled bottle of Prosecco. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was small but perfectly functional -ie warm, quiet, a good shower, quality toiletries and a comfortable bed. The old floors mean the furniture slopes a bit, but it is an old hotel and has not been taken over by the big hotel chains - so I quite like it being quirky. As for the cleaning - our room was clean.
After having such a huge afternoon tea we just needed a small meal in the bar. The bar food
was very good. We had fish and chips and a chicken wrap with salad. Best fish and chips tasted for ages was the comment.
I would definitely recommend the hotel especially if you want to avoid the standardised chain hotels.
