Very welcoming, friendly couple. Room was warm and clean, tea making facilities, water and WiFi. I didn't have breakfast but there was a varied selection on offer. I'd definitely stay here again. Very good value for money.

Having found Alloway place it would have been better if there was a sign saying bed n breakfast
There is Parking in the road, but if this is full they do have parking around the back down a small lane, again a number on the back wall would have helped,
The room was nice and bright, but for people who can not climb stairs this is not the place to be, there are over 40 steps, the four poster bed is comfy, also note there are not complimentary toiletries, breakfast is standard, making your own toast as u require it. The price of the room is very fair .

Room Tip: When booking as for the room with the four poster bed its bright and has sea views

This weekend away was bought for our 20th wedding anniversary through booking.com by our kids. To start with there is no sign outside to let you know it is a B&B, only a small one inside the door only and we felt silly as we couldn't find the place!, Yes it's an old beautiful building but maintenance was very poor and decor was delapitated. This was in no way, shape or form a B&B.
Room wasn't ready at 2pm although check in was from 11am, a set of keys were given and we were told that doors were locked at 10.30pm but these seemed to be constantly locked. Dirty towels left in the bathroom weren't taken, bathroom hadn't been cleaned as well as the bins not being emptied from previous occupants (complained and got clean towels two hours later and bathroom was quickly cleaned) Games room couldn't be used due to toys, the owners baby items and their washing being stored in there. Breakfast was very basic and the owners kids were allowed to play ball outside the area when and where breakfast was given. This so called B&B seemed to be used more for family members than potential customers and only two rooms in the attic seemed to be used for guests. Many complaints were raised but nothing seemed to phase the owners!, we only stayed the one night instead of the two which was booked and we had to fight to get some of our money back. We Only were only offered the 2nd nights money back (£54) and waited over a week for this to be sent. Other B&Bs in this area are of a better standard and you would be better just go a little more expensive and go to a hotel!!

Room Tip: Stay away!!

We happened on this B and B, as we were looking for a nice place to stay, to celebrate my husband's Birthday and our Wedding Anniversary, over the weekend. What a great find!....Jonathan showed us up to a spacious bedroom,at the top of the house. The weather was awful at that evening, so it was good to see a comfy, big bed and warm, soft furnishings in our room.
Parking is available at the back of the house.
Our room had an En-suite Shower/toilet etc, but I do like a bath.....This was no problem, as Jonathan showed me into a lovely bathroom downstairs, with a fab, Victorian, roll- top bath!.Great way to warm up on such a horrible rainy evening!
We had our own key to come and go as we pleased.
11,Alloway Place is only a short walk away from Ayr Town centre, so we had Dinner and some drinks in town, and then back to our room, which thankfully had Tea making facilities, for that late night cuppa.
Breakfast was a treat, even catering to husband's Dietary requirements of Kippers and some lovely Porridge!
Kirsty, the lady of the house ,could not do enough for us, and we will certainly be back!...Thanks again!x

Room Tip: Top of the house for a Sea view, on a clear day. A few stairs though,...will keep you fit!
