You can eat either in the bar or the restaurant. The menu is the same in both.
The staff are friendly and very efficient. The owner, Grant, is almost always there.
The menu is varied. There are plenty of pub style items like lasange and scampy and chips but there are many restaurant type items and the chef is very capable and delivers.
We had dinner there last Saturday. I started with a delightful bowl of Cullen Skink soup whicch is the best I have ever had.
When in Ayr this is definitely a place to visit. They also have rooms so you can even stay.
It is also very reasonably priced for the quality they provide.
