Just stayed a week in the ‘Bothy’ from the start it was a wonderful experience with unexpected (and very welcome) extras on arrival courtesy of Diane. Diane and William were perfect welcoming hosts, as well as Gem and Mirren the two dogs who kept us entertained with their antics together with occasional visits from the hens. Peaceful location with wonderful views of the Loch, enjoyed watching and listening to the birds and wildlife. Great location for photography and dark skies for Astronomy, also enjoyed a few dips in the hot tub.
Just spent an idyllic week at the “Bothy”. From the start it was more than we expected. The added extras were very much appreciated and unexpected. Our hosts warm and generous. Diane and William go above and beyond we left feeling like friends. The cottage is tranquility itself. We felt we had escaped to a gentler kinder place. Will definitely be back.
What an amazing secret hideaway, tranquil, peaceful & closeby to lots of lovely days out. Diane & William made us feel so welcome & provided lots of personal touches that were greatly appreciated. Visited with my husband & 3 children aged 7, 3 & 9 months. Everyone had a really fabulous time & we can't wait to return xx
Just spent lovely weekend at this beautiful cottage. Magnificent views, hot tub excellent, cottage spotless clean with fresh flowers, chocolates, biscuits, honey, eggs, marshmallows & bottle of prosecco. What more could you want, Diane was a lovely host & very helpful. Be back very soon
I thought the website might be over stating the beauty and quality of Swan Bothy but as soon as I arrived on the drive I realised that if anything it was better than I could have hoped for. The view and location are idyllic and peaceful, the Bothy is in fact a very well appointed cottage with central heating and an open fire which is laid for you when you arrive. There were flowers in every room and in each bedroom which had very high quality bedding and furniture. My party of four had nothing but praise and appreciation for this property and for the friendly welcome we received from Diane and William. I would not hesitate to return and I very much hope to do so. Five stars in all respects.
Looking for a base south of Glasgow we felt we had hit the jackpot when we discovered the Swan Bothy online. The Bothy lived up to and exceeded our expectations, with the hot tub a real highlight for William, aged 13. We had a little snow, and it was magical sitting in the tub with the snow falling, but also watching the stars appear on cloudless nights. We were happy to explore the Burns Trail around Ayrshire and the Electric Brae (didn't work for us!), and also use the Bothy as a base for trips into Glasgow to visit the Clyde Ship Museum and Kelvingrove Gallery. But the Bothy offered too much to head out every day - the relaxing and secluded nature of the site was ideal for playing games, watching DVDs, eating and drinking. Great to have a real fire, fresh eggs from the hens and Swan Bothy honey! And yes, there were swans too, on the Loch, and flying in formation, skimming the surface at dusk.
Almost don't want to write a review. Would like to keep this place all to myself. The cottage is set in the most amazing location, surrounded by the wonders of nature. It is homely and the owners friendliness and little extra treats as mentioned in other reviews make it feel very special. A lot of thought has gone into making this a perfect place for both adults and children . Even as four adults we found the troll and fairy trails magical. The relaxing hot tub looking at the stars was amazing and was just what we needed for our weekend away. Just loved it here and wish we had had booked for longer. Hope to return.
