Stopped in the beautiful town yesterday for lunch, this pub/grill looked inviting so a friend and I went in. We were quickly seated and drink order taken. She returned with drinks and took our lunch order. A little disappointed the SPECIAL for pie had already ran out... the place wasn't full... and it was still lunch hour. I ordered a pizza and my friend ordered a pasta. We sat and chatted. 20 mins goes past... 30 mins... 40 mins. Not one person came out and said there was a wait on food. We had 45 mins to get lunch and to be back at our bus. That full 45 mins went and still no sign of food. It takes 3 mins to boil pasta and 10 mins for a pizza usually. 50 mins later our food was served, no apologies given. We had to scoff our food and return to our tour. Very disappointed with service. They know tour companies come through everyday.... at least tell people there is going to be a wait before they order. I wish we had a little time to enjoy our food and didn't have to rush.

Went to the Faerie Tree on Thursday 19/10, four adults, four girls under 9 and one cocker spaniel.
Staff were fantastic with the kids and dog, Archie the Cocker Spaniel got lots of treats, claps, and love!
The Faerie Tree Inn also has a great touch with a couch and TV with lots of kids dvds set up for keeping the kids entertained whilst waiting on dinner. Great touch!
Went for the potato wedges then BBQ chicken on the set menu, food was excellent, really well presented and great value.
Thanks for the lovely food and great service!

The Faerie Tree was taken over recently and this is the first time I’ve eaten there since the changeover.

Firstly the place is always spotless with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The new managers are just lovely and welcoming, they really were made for a career in hospitality.

Now to the food. Last night was a Spanish night and my only disappointment was the portions were so generous that I couldn’t eat it all. The starters and tapas were delicious and fresh and were the most authentic I’d had outside of Spain. Following this was a choice of paella. I chose mixed seafood and it was delicious with plenty of squid and mussels. Someone else had the vegetarian option and it also looked great. There was also a chicken and chorizo option but I’m not usually a chorizo fan so I stayed away. However the chorizo they’d served earlier in the meal was so delicate and flavoursome without being over powering that I may go for that option in the future.

On top of all this lovely food we were also given a glass of sangria as part of the deal and it was delicious and fruity.

As a local I feel very lucky this place is nearby, I’m sure we’ll be using it lots in the future. Well done Moira & David.

We would like to thank you so much for dining with us. We are overjoyed that you really liked the Tapas Theme it was something different and unique. I must apologise for making the portions too big. We didn't want to disappoint any guests or leave them feeling hungry after trying something different. The sangria we tried to make the whole night as authentic as possible and create a beautiful atmosphere ,amazing aromas and wonderful dishes. With you being a member of the local community we hope that we will see you again soon for more drinks and tempt you into dining with us once again thank you.

We couldn't have done this alone and we are very lucky to a very passionate and talented team that want to work with us. Thank you once again from Moira and Dave
