My second visit to the Broch. First time last year with friends. This time with my six year old twins. We had wonderful day for it. Bright, clear, dry. Fantastic views. We all enjoyed the wonder, interest, novelty and construction of the Broch. Very well worth a trip to see and the short climb up path to get closer look at remains.

We just happened upon a sign for the Broch while driving and decided to make a quick stop, and were glad we did. we were the only ones at the Broch for the whole visit. The structure itself I believe is the most well preserved iron age broch, if I'm not mistaken. there's a display that explains how the structure was used and we even ventured inside. Pretty great view from the top of the hill looking down on a little village.

We visited here with American Guests this year....suffice to say all were impressed.
Plenty of parking and decent facilities.....worth a quick visit.

Dun Carloway Broch stirs the imagination - life during the first century and life during the 21st century! How very cool is that! It takes little effort when one closes their eyes, the smells and sounds simply come to life! A must see for certain!
