This is a stunning beach. Sand is white and crystal clear water. Beach is very clean and despite being busy it didn't feel crowded. There was plenty space to sit. Sat on beach from late morning till 2100 and loved every minute of it. Got the BBQ out in the evening and ate there. There is a small shop selling ice cream and drinks beside the car park. There are 2 small car parks beside the shop and another through a gate in a field. The walk to the old jetty from the beach is nice though track boggy after recent rain. Highly recommend this beach. Should not be missed.

This is clearly a busy place on a beautiful sunny day as it was when we visited. There is a rough track that takes you to 2 small parking areas where you can make a contribution to environmental work. There is also a small hut selling ice creams which I am sure is welcomed by many. The beach is not vast but shelves gently down into the crystal clear waters which are great for all ages. There is also a path that leads to the old jetty where many people left here for distant shores in troubled times and this was their last time in Scotland. The path to get here was very boggy in places so good boots are preferable - we were in trainers and got wet feet! The jetty itself compromises of massive boulders and slabs of pink granite but some of this is uneven and damaged by storms so perhaps not a good place for younger children (there are no railings) or if you are unsteady on your feet. Having been spoilt by long sandy expanses of near deserted beaches in Iona I was perhaps a wee bit disappointed as it was not quite what I expected and I was surprised that it has such a high ranking. On a beautiful day I can see the appeal of taking a picnic here and spending several hours parked on the beach along with many others......

A great day out with the kids. There's a great place to eat just up the road with an art gallery.
Great prices and great food.

We worth the visit.

Spent one night camping at calgary bay. The toilets were someone questionable but any toilets at all are a luxury if you're wild camping so you can't complain. The beach was lovely and the cafe up the road served good food and drink. Great stopover spot in Mull.

Came here a couple of days ago and was very impressed. It was raining when we came but I can imagine it to be beautiful when the sun is shining. Very clean and well looked after.
