What can I say, where do I start? Absolutely fantastic! The conversion is amazing, in both it's quality and sensitivity, warm, comfortable, the most excellent views, and the wildlife... You actually don't have to go anywhere else, but of course you must as there is so much to see on Skye. At the boathouse, we saw: otters, seals, dolphins, a stoat, sheep, hedgehogs, buzzards, an eagle, jellyfish, more sheep, brilliant. The accommodation is wonderful, so spacious, and THE BATHROOM! Pure luxury with views to die for. Sit outside at night and just listen to....nothing...just peace and quiet! Bliss. It's thanks to Carol for having the insight and inspiration to renovate this beautiful boathouse, to such a high degree for so many people to enjoy, make sure you are one of them! Carols welcome pack was also very well received. Did not want to leave, and will be back. Thank you Carol. (We were there for two wonderful weeks)

“Fantastic”
Reviewed September 18, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Short of a long list of superlatives i'm at a loss as to how best I should sum up our stay.

In short though, the house is wonderful and the views spectacular.

Will definitely be going back - possibly in winter this time as I suspect it will be even more cosy with the log fire going.

“A Beautiful location to relax and luxuriate”
Reviewed August 23, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We needed a break from our stressful jobs and stumbled across the Tripadvisor reviews for this little gem of a converted boathouse located just feet away from Loch Snizort.

Our low to the ground convertible sports car had no problem in traversing the track down to the Boathouse and as we made the final approach we knew straight away we had made the right decision - the location was simply breathtaking!

We initially walked round the property just to get a sense of the beauty of the Boathouse and it's unique position on the Loch.

We then entered the property and sensed calm and peace - everything we needed had been thought of, there was also a nice selection of goodies waiting for us, including a nice bottle of wine, butter and lovely marmalade!

The bathroom upstairs is spectacular with a bath big enough for two with views to die for of the Loch. Top Tip - go into Portree (15 mins drive) and there is a lovely shop that sells homemade bath bombs - then relax in the bath and enjoy!

A week was not long enough mind on this beautiful island, staying in this unique dwelling.

We definitely plan to stay again.

“Simply magical”
Reviewed August 17, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The Boathouse is simply beautiful, a magical place for relaxing holidays. The views are spectacular, we enjoyed every minute of our stay.
The house is finished to an exceptionally high standard. The most comfortable and fully equipped cottage we have ever stayed.
We miss it and hope to return soon.

“We started smiling the moment we walked through the door”

Beautiful property in unique setting.
We were surprised by the size of the rooms and how spacious it felt.
The facilities were five star+ everything was provided to make our stay relaxing and very enjoyable.
Very handy to have Butchers shop in Portree only 8 miles away, but being able to stay in a secluded location.

“Wow - The Boathouse is fabulous!”
Reviewed June 18, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This place is amazing. The location alone is worth it but coupled with the cosiness and luxury Carol has created it exceeded our expectations which were already quite high! The boathouse is beautifully decorated and is bigger than it looks in the photos. The welcome goodies are very much appreciated after the long drive (especially the wine already chilling in the fridge!) and Carol really does seem to have thought of everything. Its not the cheapest place to choose but once you are there it really is worth it. The views are stunning and it feels like you are in your own luxurious little haven. I don't think you could beat the view from the bath. Overall, its fabulous and I wish I was back there now!

“Fabulous - I wish it was mine”
Reviewed May 28, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

The location of this boathouse is stunning and the standard of renovation is outstanding. The wind may bluster heartily outside, but the property is warm, snug and spacious with everything you could possibly need and exquisite attention to detail. There is lots of information about the island along with walks & restaurants (loved Edinbane Inn). If it is raining in Kingsburgh, we found it dry further south and visa versa - so don't let the weather keep you in. However, if your legs are tired or you want to chill - the boathouse is the place to do it. Not only is it extremely well appointed and comfortable, but Carol had left all we would need for breakfast the morning after arrival. A truly wonderful pace.
