Stayed one night in a very spacious room. The room was very clean and well equipped.

The food in the clubhouse and the bar is good. Staff is friendly and helpfull.
Did not use the sauna, gym or pool, so cannot comment on that.

We had booked the room through a comparison travel website which gave us great value for money. We thought we had booked a double room which turned out to have a huge bed and a spare single in the room. Very spacious with 2 armchairs and wardrobe space.

The bathroom was clean and had a modern feel to it. The only downside being was the shower head wasn't really powerful enough. The room did only have one power socket by the front door for charging phones etc.

The staff were very friendly, professional and welcoming. The hotel itself had many facilities including a pool, sauna and a gym. For extra add ons you could get a range of massages/spa treatments too!

Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Stayed here 4 nights 6th 10th September past , could not praise the staff enough.
The rooms were clean and probably the largest I have stayed in with a private balcony and large comfortable bed
The food was good quality and very large portions with plenty of choice
I would recommend this hotel to anyone

Room Tip: Just ask but they are all good

When we first arrived, the place looked really beautiful and promising, but as soon as we got to our 'lodge', things quickly went downhill. The first thing that hits you as you walk to the front door is the smell of the bird droppings - it's awful and seriously needs to be cleaned up. The lodges have cute balconies, but the smell of bird droppings is so overwhelming it's hard to breath, much less enjoy the space. The look is very outdated as though it were once very nice, but is now only being maintained at the bare minimum.

The worst part of the lodge was discovering bed bugs! I found a spider in the pillow of the bed I was sleeping in so I advised my friend to check hers. Thank goodness for that spider because she quickly discovered a bed bug on her pillow. We stripped the bed and found more bed bugs and a mattress cover with obvious blood spots on it. We went into the second room in the lodge and stripped the bed and found there was no matress cover on this bed. While at first we didn't find anything (the matress style had plenty of hiding places for a bedbug colony), we soon saw one scampering across the sheets. Yuck!

We wouldn't be able to sleep in the lodge, so we went to the front desk to let them know about the bugs and get a new room. It seemed like they knew about the bed bugs. There were two people at the front desk and the gentleman who helped us was seemed nervous and not at all surprised. The other person at the front desk who smiled when we first walked in quickly became absorbed in whatever she was doing at her computer at the mention of bed bugs. We were put into a new room in the main hotel where we of coursed stripped the beds and examined them before sleeping. Luckily no more bed bugs that we could find, but it was not a good night's sleep.

Room Tip: Check for bedbugs

Your reported incident was an isolated and once off occurrence. Our pest control company fumigated your lodge after departure. Their findings also concluded due to the small amount of adult only bugs, with no juveniles or eggs present, infestation occurred in a matter of days around your arrival. This is the first time we have had this here at the hotel and please accept our apologies that it happened during your stay.

Generalized negative assumptions are likely to be made as a result of your review about the cleanliness or standards at our hotel. I would like to clarify that bugs get into rooms and beds from guests themselves, not through a lack of cleanliness. They travel from other countries and other hotels on guests clothes, hair and luggage. We have implemented additional precautionary standards and measures to secure against this.

Regarding the bird droppings you refer to, we have a population of swallows on the resort for the month of August. They like to nest in the pitches on the facade of a few of our lodges. We can not remove or interfere with the nests, the birds or their young as they are protected by wildlife legislation. Any mess they make during the day is cleaned daily by our porter.

The rental is spacious and comfortable, but every appliance and some furniture needed repair or replacement. For example, the fridge was missing a shelf (torn out), roller wheels were missing in the dishwasher, heat seal fell off of the oven, etc. The rental covered the basics but didn't seem to care about the details that would make for an enjoyable experience.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting Blarney as it was only a 5 minute drive to the castle. The rooms were very big and spacious with a lovely, modern bathroom.

For a 4 star hotel, the pool and spa were a big disappointment. The pool area is in definite need of some modernisation and TLC, we were especially disappointed that the jacuzzi was not working. The jacuzzi also needed a clean as there appeared to be rust stains in and around it.

We could not fault the quality of the rooms, it was just the spa thats the hotel down!
