“A home away from home!”
Reviewed 3 March 2012

I love this place, I stay here every time I'm in this neck of the woods. I've been coming here for years and it's because the service is so brilliant. Its a real family run business, Tim and Aideen are always so helpful and so is their daughter Ciara! The new cafe is fantastic with great food! The rooms are so comfortable and clean and beautifully decorated. I would reccommend it to everyone and anyone. Brilliant B&B!

After visiting Anam Cara in 2008, I swore i'd come back. I stuck to my word and headed back down in February. The place was even better than I remembered. Room 9 has a view of the River Lee, a big spacious bed and a power shower that feels like heaven. There was a big change this time as now, there is a cafe connected to the B&B. I had the french toast and would highly reccomend that people try it with the berry compote (DELISH). Thanks again to Aideen and Tim for all the help in suggesting restaurants and places to go. Will be back sooner this time!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the house catch the occasional glimpse of sun in the morning! You know Irish w...

Enjoyed our stay at Anam Cara a lot, service was excellent as always, rooms nice and comfortable. Breakfast in the new cafe is really great. Really like that place in Cork and can strongly recommend to stay at Anam Cara!

Room Tip: Personally I love room 5. It is very quiet and a nice room for up to 3 people.

While we didn't spend much time in Cork, our experience with this B&B was very good. The rooms are simple, but they are only for sleeping in, so that's ok. The breakfast was excellent! The hosts were also very accommodating when we realized we had to leave a day early, they refunded my card the original charge, and didn't hold anything for the last minute notice.

Went there for the Cork Jazz festival and stayed for 3 nights. Very close to the city center (7-8 min walk) and great services, prices are great as well if booked in advance.
Would recommend and will go there again probably.
