“Gresham Redux”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

Spending four nights at the Gresham was an opportunity to enjoy Dublin at a slower than usual pace.I tried out the afternoon tea service on Friday afternoon with a friend from Dublin. We started out about five thirty and kept talking until eight! The sandwiches and sweets were very generous, linen napkins and cosy sofa seating just off the lobby. Fresh pot of hot water for the tea,all for eighteen euro.Nice way to relax. As usual Toddy's Bar was thriving, good choice of full meals and lighter fare and beverages. Also a mix of people, some tourists but locals, too.
Again,Julie Maher was running the breakfast service efficiently, with a welcoming manner that starts the day off smoothly. My room was large,in the Lavery Wing. Because of the Italy vs Ireland rugby match the cost of Saturday night was about twice what the other three cost--I remarked at checkout that I had paid for five nights staying four. This may put some people off, rather like having to pay double for a dinner entre if all the tables are booked and too many other people want to eat the same thing! The Gresham location is so good that a lot gets forgiven, and the staff and rooms seal the deal.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Lavery Wing are large and have both tub and shower.

We always stay at this hotel when we are in Dublin this is our 4th visit. The staff are wonderful and the food is good. You could not ask for a better location just a minute from the shops and the entertainment . It lives up to it's 4 stars

Room Tip: Always shop around for the best deal at this hotel......

Had a lovely one night break here with my hubby. Only thing i can fault (not hotels fault) was the roudy neighbours we had) they had a fight in the hall at 5am and tried to gain entrance into our room.
Staff were nice and friendly but found the food and drink very dear. (its €30 per person for a room service full irish breakfast)

Stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor suite for a long weekend in February 2012. Complete luxury - four poster bed, jacuzzi, large balcony, opulent furniture. The hotel is impressive, the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is great and plentiful. The location is perfect, in walking distance of restaurant, shopping, Temple Bar and tourist attractions. We will definitely return.
