This was a great place to stay. The location was near two bus stops. The rooms were nice with a separate common area for the guests. The rates were very reasonable and a great value. The hosts were very helpful in planning trips and days. Ask PJ to make the chicken and some change. Bernie was a delight and do very helpful. From the airport by taxi, it takes 15-20 minutes and costs about €20.00-25.00. I highly recommend this B&B.

Greetings from a very cold Dublin! Thinking of you both in sunny Florida!! Thanks for taking time to enter a review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Did you manage to find any hurling matches online?? I was thinking of putting a video of PJ and the "chicken" online but he thinks that takes the mystery out of it as guests will know what it is before they arrive???

Can i just say if you ever stay in Dublin for business, travel or holiday- GO HERE!
The service, kindness, welcoming and loving attention you receive is second to none- 1st class!
Bernie and PJ welcomed us with open arms as soon as we stepped foot in their wonderful B and B and throughout our stay bent over backwards to help us enjoy our short stay in Dublin.
Coffee and Tea and Squash on first arrival and making my teenage children and myself welcome was their 1st priority, they gave us excellent insight into all we wanted to do and Bernie even went out of her way to take us to places of interest.
We went B and B and the rooms were so clean, comfortable and welcoming- its really like a 1st class family run place. They told us we could use the self catering lounge and kitchen and EVERYTHING was there for us- free coffee and Tea, washing facilities, books, DVDs- i could go on and on and on!
The full Irish breakfast was so filling and you get a huge plateful and didnt wait long at all. Orange juice, Tea, Coffee and cereals too- delicious!!! x
I cant thank them both highly enough and 4 days cost us just 225 euros for 3 people.
Never felt so welcome at a B and B and had so excellent facilities and care in all my 41 years- thank you Bernie and PJ- if anyone is EVER thinking of going to Dublin for anything GO HERE!
You WONT be disapointed!

Went back in February for my sons 20th Birthday gift and had the same amazing attention- BRILLIANT - A1! Cannot fault at all. x

Well done Bernie and PJ and will definetly see you both again!

I've stayed in this B&B for a month...the location is very quite, close to bus station, food shops , pubs and 10 minutes walking from the Botanic Gardens. Rooms are very clean and the quality of furnitures are very good...the bed was very comfortable and the room was always warm.

I've met a lot of people from all over the world ...San Francisco, Brisbane, Cork, Glasgow, Stockholm, Munich....and it has been a fantastic experience and very interesting. I never felt alone. it's more than a B&B...I've had one of the most beautiful experience in my life.
Bernie and PJ are so nice and kind, they're always available.
I can say it....it's a magic place!!!

I spent two weeks in Botanic View B & B from December 21th to December 28th. The house was quite near towncenter, about 14 minutes by bus. The landlords were very friendly and Bernie helped me to find my way in Dublin on the first day, and did her best to make me familiar with town. Food was very good, and room comfortable. I would advise this B & B to whoever wants to spend a quiet stay not too far from Dublin curiousities, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Review:
My son and I recently had a very pleasant 33 night stay at Botanic View Self Catering. What a wonderful place to call home in Dublin. From the first moment we were made very welcome by Bernie and PJ who will stop at nothing to ensure you are comfortable, well informed and having a great time in their city. Our lovely room was extremely clean, comfy and warm with a lovely ensuite and every convenience you could want. The kitchen has everything you need to make anything from a snack to a gourmet dinner and you can relax in the lounge area watching TV, reading a good book from the bookcase or enjoying a chat with a fellow resident. We met some lovely people from a variety of countries which made our stay even more interesting and enjoyable. Even though we had a car, which we were able to park easily and for free on the street, we also made good use of the excellent city bus service nearby. For those days we wanted to head into the country this property is close to motorways for a quick escape out of the city. Everything you need is on your doorstep when you stay at Botanic View including sightseeing, grocery shopping, dining and fast food outlets. If you are planning a trip to Dublin you don't need to look any further than Botanic View where you will find everything you could need or want for the perfect stay in this amazing city. The best recommendation my son and I can give is that even though we are now back in Australia in our own home we are missing our "Dublin Home" very much and can't wait till the day we can go back again. Thanks Bernie and PJ - you guys do a great job in a great place and really do offer a 'Cead Mile Failte' to all your guests!!

Room Tip: We had a room facing the street with 2 windows (double glazed) - at no stage were we disturbed by tr...

Greetings from Dublin and thanks for review. It was a pleasure having you stay all through Christmas. That itinery you emailed me about all the places your son played Irish music in Sydney over St. Patrick's Day was very impressive! Keep the flag flying for us all here.

My husband and I stayed here from 5th to 9th of January in the B&B. Easy to find with the directions from the website, a really warm welcome and a map and other information given to us by Bernie. Room was lovely, warm and clean, shower was great, bed really comfy and also it was really quiet at night, which a city centre hotel/B&B wouldn't be! Another things that makes this B&B stand out is that there is access to the self-catering facilities, so if you want to relax with a cuppa or bring a take-away home rather than eat out, you have a sofa, kitchen and a dining room table to use - like a home away from home!

Bernie and her husband PJ were both really friendly and approachable, particularly with regards to helping us work out where to go - Bernie even got our hop-on-hop-off bus tickets for us at a discount! They also gave us lifts into the city a few mornings too - really can't praise them enough.

B&B is about 5 mins from city centre on the bus (we never waited more than 3 mins for a bus!) and is in a lovely area with lots of bars and restaurants which we sampled and would recommend the Brian Boru and the Gravediggers! The B&B is a 5 min walk to the botanic gardens which were lovely even in January and also the Glasnevin cemetery which we didn't visit but has a museum and is a big tourist attraction. We had 4 nights there and the things we did in the city centre which really stood out were Dublin castle and the guided tour, Kilmainham Goal and the Guinness factory. The hop-on tourist bus is definately worth it.

I can't recommend Botanic View enough and would definitely stay again.

After looking at many places in dublin I found out that this was ranked 3rd on trip advisor and it looked like the type of place my boy friend n i were looking for to stay for a week.

Email communication with the owner was great and due to the very late hour of our arrival she kindly arranged so that we could let ourselves in when we arrived at 1am.and even got a free bfast since she couldnt meet us when we arrived.

We booked the smallest of the double bed rooms, en suite. Small as they are, they are not too small and you dont feel restricted. the wardrobe was large enough to hold our clothes and several hangers were provided, some shelving to place items or shoes behind the door and a decent sized shower - of which the water was way too hot initially but after informing the owner it was adjusted without any trouble. The bed is slightly smaller than a standard double bed but this should be no problem for most couples. The room is very nice an warm, so warm that we ended up sleeping in our underwear the first couple of nights as we were not used to central heating.

We could have booked for breakfast everymorning but instead decided to go for self catering to keep the expenses down since we are just students. the communal kitchen and living room was very nice, cooking utensils available, two fridges - just mark your room number on your food, there are even labelled cupboards to place other food. tv is available as are maps and brochures. The washing machine can also be used - with moderation. If you wished to have your clothes but in the drier the owner would do that for you.

the only short coming was that the property was two houses hence for those staying in no3. - one would have to go back outside to enter no.1 where the kitchen was. not that this was a huge problem as it never rained hard and literally took a few seconds to move from one house to the other. (you are given keys to both houses and your room)

It is about a 20-25min walk to and from the centre but it is a very pleasant walk and not dangerous in my opinion... nicer to the centre as it is downhill. Otherwise the bus is about 1.65 (may have changed now with new 2012 fares and you can get cheaper fares with the Leap Card) - the owner will explain the bus routes. Its about 10 euro taxi ride from the centre (watch the meter so you stop a block or so before the house so you dont spend more, only takes 5mins or less to walk the last bit)

we paid 125 euros each for the week which i think was excellent.... its worth the walk to the centre!!!!! ^^ plus not far to walk to the botanic gardens and phoenix park

Thank you for taking time to write review and we are glad you had a good time here. Sorry that you had to go outside to access self catering house but you wanted cheapest option and that room with the slightly smaller bed is the cheapest room for 2 people that we have. Hope to see you again some time.
