I recently ate here for breakfast and had a full Irish breakfast. The service was excellent and the atmosphere in the café was lovely. Although it is a small dining room, tables are not squashed together and there feels like there is plenty of space.

Despite being a very simple dish, the quality of the food was very good. There was no problem when I substituted an extra mushroom for the grilled tomato.

The coffee was good although I think it should be part of the breakfast and not a separate item.

I visited 53 Avenue with my Mum and best friend on a recent trip to Dublin. We kind of stumbled on the restaurant, as it is a little tucked away from the main strip in Killester. We are glad that we found this local gem. The food was beautifully prepared, and really tasty. My Mum was very impressed with her fresh hake. The service was friendly and quick. The wines by the glass were delicious, in particular, the Aussie Riesling. I will definitely return on my next trip to Dublin.

Found the food very good, fresh and tastey and unique.
Its a bit out of the way but it certainly is an above average eatery. I also found the staff pleasant and friendly.
Would certainly recomend. Its a tad expensive.

Ate brunch/lunch here on bank holiday Monday. Good choice on both menus. The Caesar salad with chicken was excellent and the omelette with ham and Gruyere was good too. We got a side of sage potatoes which were really delicious and crispy.
We indulged ourselves and got dessert too. The raspberry and white chocolate meringue roulade was very tasty and the chocolate caramel square was very yummy too.

The waitresses were very friendly and knowledgable about the menu.

They do free corkage on Monday through Wednesday at dinner time and the dinner menu looks great.

Will definitely return soon to this local gem!!
